You're not going to hear a lot of negative things RE: authority in China regardless of whether or not it happens. The media is much more tightly controlled there than it is here. It's not a death grip, it's not preventing all negative coverage from getting out, but if the central committee doesn't want it acknowledged it won't be. And if you think there aren't extremely horrible racial issues in China with regard to different ethnic groups inside and outside the nation, you're missing out on some great reading. What I can tell you, though, is that my girlfriends Thai family--the portion of it still in Thailand and Thai influenced, who are wealthy--literally doesn't believe in black people. Literally. Full stop. They think that we tan to get this way, that it's a conscious choice, and that if we want to improve our lives or be respected we should just stop.
So....I mean it's your call really. Large swaths of Asia don't necessarily have contempt for us. They just straight up don't believe we exist. And that we should deal with being shit on because it's a choice we make. We're not talking peasantry here, either. The other portions of Asia straight up hates us. And Nazism is popular as hell. Painting with a broad brush, I wouldn't exactly push racial nuance in Asia.
