It is a complete no-brainer to anyone who can think clearly or rationally that this will give the WIi U a HUGE boost. It also drops right before E3, & who knows what Nintendo is going to show there (unannounced games? price drop? NFC platform? Who Knows?) to further entice potential system buyers. That well-calculated one-two punch is going to silence a lot of wannabe Pachters around here. You won't (ya just can't can you?) believe this now, but oh the crow that'll be eaten come July, mmm-mmmmm. Tasty!


MK8 will sit atop the software charts for at least the first 2 months of release, (these "but, but, Watch_Dogs" arguments are hilarious. Brand new IP, sure, it'll trounce the established MK juggernaut....OhhhhhhhKaaaay, dudebros ...), & Wii U will be the best selling console at least one (perhaps both, but prob not) of those months, only to be overtaken by PS4 after E3 & all it reveals, but it will still be #2. And then the real race for #1 begins. Sure Nintendo wasted its nice long lead-in time this gen, but the kinks are working out, HD development is coming around over there, & this is where gaming is gonna get interesting again, this year, 2014. Sony & Nintendo just take over this year. It'll take a helluva lot more than dropping Kinect to stop it, so I imagine some amazing things coming from MS as well, but that's another topic for another time.


But Wii U could sell 25 million units just over the summer & GAF would still be all "lol, nintendo. so doomed", so what do you expect around this echo chamber?

Maybe I'm biased as a STEM person, but plenty of my friends who were in STEM had little trouble finding and keeping jobs, those I know in the humanities have had it much rougher - either they are underemployed, employed in a wildly different field than what they studied, or not able to find work at all. I won't argue against the humanities, as I certainly balanced my CS classwork with courses in history, art (which I got a minor in), urban planning, geology and a bunch of other random things that I found very interesting... (and hell, my knowledge of art had me mocking up the UI and graphic design for systems that are used in 1/6 of the nation's school districts) But still, regardless of what this article says, there's a much better chance you'll get a decent paying job with a STEM degree than with a degree in women's studies or philosophy or history... and then after you get some real world experience under your belt, recruiters will be throwing themselves at you.

If you know what you want to do, get the degree most applicable to it. If you want "any" job and are in school to earn a better living, major in something that shows knowledge or skills that can have the most potential applications in the business world. Economics is one of the highest paid undergrad degrees straight out of college but in my experience it's one of the easiest majors and can easily be finished a year early.

I don't know anyone who immediately found a decent job after college without internships and networking.
