lol. Jesus Christ. Prove you own the game on an internet forum. Would that happen in any other thread.

Prove you bought this CD/DVD/UFC stream, etc.

 :goty2

Given they have a policy/rule of "no piracy" it's been LONG OVERDUE that people "put up or shutup" pre-release materials. While we all know a bunch of people on GAF adblock/pirate (even Stump said as much) the fact that they're doing it on a BIG PC release is good: Weeds out the juniors too dumb to admit/get trapped and is a lesson to shut-up before the game is released for the sake of "performance" and discussion.

Or maybe moderation finally decided to stop being "double-standards" about things and actually crack down on their "no piracy" rule that's been there for years, but rarely enforced. I, for one, hope they do more of it so I keep getting :ufup situations from it.

If they're going to be that kind of forum they really should take that same shotgun over to Off Topic whenever anyone obnoxiously throws up the Batsignal once an album leaks. If you can't be discrete until the legit iTunes or NPR stream goes up then you have it coming.

Kind of weird for that invidious02 guy to be so self-righteous considering he was banned like a year ago for getting caught torrenting the same Assassin's Creed game early that he made that circlejerk OT for.

get games early all the time so no rules for that either.

Even if he really did have the game preordered ( :gurl) the nature of bittorrent means you're inherently proliferating it to other less scrupulous people.

Pretty much.

That's the double standard. Among dozens of others that they put in place.

Unless somebody says hey I'm pirating this, leave it alone. Going down that can of worms of who actually owns what is the way to madness. It's another example of arbitrary moderation.

But their forum. Their arbitrary rules. Whatevs.

Exactly. Prove I own something? Are you fucking out of your mind? How far up your own ass do you have to be to tell complete strangers that they have to prove something to you? There are a plethora of ways to get games early that aren't piracy, and the mods fucking know this. What is with this current trend of "appease my ego or I shall ban you" shit?

TBH I'm surprised it's taken so long for Gaf mods to come down on game piracy every thread I see the old "I've got a press review copy" being used as an excuse, hilarious to see they've actually asked for evidence this time.

I mean even the biggest idiot could see the connection between the torrent leak and the curious amount of Gaf members who also suddenly gained access to a 'review version' you would think people would keep their mouths shut but PC gamers being PC gamers it's all about loudly letting the plebs know how cock hardeningly powerful your PC rig is.

I reserve the right to laugh at anyone who wastes thousands of dollars to get a degree in philosophy, sociology, history, and a host of other shit that will make you a manager at McDonalds.

Be tens of thousands of dollars in undischargeable debt to work at a job you could have gotten with a high school diploma, bryhs

The STEM circlejerk at GAF is strong today

http://spectrum.ieee.org/at-work/education/the-stem-crisis-is-a-myth#.Uid7idTfiqQ.twitter

It's almost as if education bubbles are big business, Law and computer sciences anyone?

Maybe I'm biased as a STEM person, but plenty of my friends who were in STEM had little trouble finding and keeping jobs, those I know in the humanities have had it much rougher - either they are underemployed, employed in a wildly different field than what they studied, or not able to find work at all. I won't argue against the humanities, as I certainly balanced my CS classwork with courses in history, art (which I got a minor in), urban planning, geology and a bunch of other random things that I found very interesting... (and hell, my knowledge of art had me mocking up the UI and graphic design for systems that are used in 1/6 of the nation's school districts) But still, regardless of what this article says, there's a much better chance you'll get a decent paying job with a STEM degree than with a degree in women's studies or philosophy or history... and then after you get some real world experience under your belt, recruiters will be throwing themselves at you.

A STEM major will likely get you a more stable job that pays better but the myth of a guaranteed job at the end of your college degree is something that needs to end.  Not that it is a good thing but that is the reality of our time.  The thing also with STEM is that since technology is moving so fast, continuous education is necessary.  The downside to that is that you may end up specializing in something that is going to go away in 10 years, which might leave you shit out of luck so you're going to have go to back to school for something else in order to stay competitive.  It's probable that competitive STEM majors will need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in education throughout their working careers.  Hopefully you work for an employer who will pay for it.

This is why the whole STEM cocksucking needs to go away. Mock someone for getting a degree they want while yours isn't a slamdunk either, bro. Get the degree you want with the debit you want for a job you (might not get) want. Let others do the same.

It's just four now (used to be five before Arthur Andersen imploded). I'm just self-employed but highly embedded in some small firms. (Not everyone can afford, or even really needs, a big four accountant. The majority of businesses are small businesses after all.)

It is a field where the dark side is inescapable. My big break in the industry was being hired on to prepare an extensive asset declaration and value calculation as part of a Swiss banking tax amnesty. Even nonprofit accounting (which I picked up to assuage my feelings about the trade and also because I was desperate for work) is full of scuzzy stuff too.

It was a serious comment... I'm avoiding every non 1080p game from the new systems... I played BF4 on PS3 due this restriction and I will do the same with Watch Dogs.

Every non-1920x1080p game I will buy on old gen consoles.

I expect to not do that this gen but I was forced because the games are not reaching this level.

Naruko Hanaharu, the main character designer of Suisei no Gargantia is a famous (maybe notorious for you) hentai manga artist, what else do you want from him? This is how Japanese anime industry working in reality, they really have a decent job for a hentai manga artist, and his name could attract more otaku audience.

Things like "Mature audience will never accept Japanese artists sexualize little girls/underage/youngsters/female characters" is a very weak social justice agenda. If our communist government taught me anything about social justice, it's about social justice is the worst thing on this planet, it's basically nothing but admit how weak your culture/law/national strength is. If you want to achieve social justice, you make a law to forbid, you take the dispute land by force, you arrest hentai manga artists across national boundaries and put them in your jail, in this way you can tell the world "this is fucking bad and should go to hell", this is how social justice being served, not using agendas to encourage censorship or witch hunt.

If America can make laws to anti such sexualiztion in ACG world, that will be respected, and there will be no Japanese game dev/anime artist dare to show these to their honorable foreign audience again. Kojima will change Quite's design, Kamitani could never make that fanservice, and Suisei no Gargantia won't give Naruko Hanaharu any job. If this is what you want, that's how to achieve it, acting like "I am such a sane mature human being, I know how bad this is, you guys who enjoy and support this are silly perverts" won't help at all.

Man, I wish I could find the concept art/screenshot of that one game whose name I can't even remember. It looked a lot like Gears. There was this female character, who had armour everywhere except on her ass. It's the epitome of stupid, satire-proof, hope-you're-joking-design that stuck with me ever since.

I've yet to have found a single person who bought Bayonetta to fap to. Everyone I know (or comments I've read) have talked about how fun the game is. What an interesting character Bayonetta is. Those are the discussions.

On the topic of The Sniper in MGSV I think there's more to her design than we think. I honestly think Kojima is looking for controversy and then we'll find out why she's dressed the way she is. It's why I can't pass judgement on her yet. At first glance, yeah. Stupid. But when the game comes out there might be a reason for it and we'll all look stupid for bringing it up (just a theory).

I do think it's pretty remarkable that Bayonetta became an empowering character, because I'm 99.99% sure she is tailor-made to reflect Hideki Kamiya sexual fantasies and fetishes.

Rahxephon91

I don't know what is more annoying with the constant Bayonetta debate. Those who keep bringing her up as bad because "oh no sex and it's childish because sex" or "oh it's empowering because she's cool with her sex".

Like she's just a real fanservice character and the game is all about being fun. Like there's no point in thinking very hard about it.

I got in an argument with a friend who called her a whore and that was the reason he did'nt want to play the game. Because Bayonetta is a fictional character who is a whore because she flaunts sex appeal. I'm sure there's some feminst subject matter there, but I don't care. I just feel like some guys are on a moral crusade about this stuff so they seem above "something". Like it dosen't matter. It's a stupid probably sexist game that should'nt really be thought as anything serious.

But Japanese games are the ugly ones (Image removed from quote.)

I think many of them have done a bang-up job without breaking the bank like their western counterparts. Maybe not the most technically advanced, but good art direction triumphs over that.
