Trans discussions on GAF always lead to massive jimmy rustles.
Gaf tends to be overly emotional in general to the tiniest shit. However, you need to view this from the scope of a minority barely anyone takes seriously, is routinely under-minded, and that barely any segment of the population understands. Of course there's jimmy rustling. CIS people rarely defend trans people, so there has to be a segment of trans people (which is already a ridiculously low number even compared to gays) who defend transgender individuals. I certainly don't see you bitching about jimmy rustling when some dipshit says a racist remark, and while many trans individuals on gaf may have the wrong go about it, I'd love to read you defend as to why.
Trust me, as a Nas stan I understand.
Actually I don't get upset over racial comments, as seen in every thread about "x says something offensive." The last time I truly got rustled was Trayvon Martin, however jokes about it don't phase me. Now if Zimmerman was joking about it then yeah, I'd either get my jimmies rustled or catch a murder case.
My problem with some (not all) of Trans-GAF is that they get seem extremely defensive over small shit. Like Dax throwing a fit whenever someone isn't aware of her situation (iirc she doesn't identify as trans). There's a lot of misunderstanding with respect to this, and I think it would make sense not to treat that as disrespect or comparable to bigotry. A lot of people are confused about this stuff, they don't mean any harm and are often trying to understand it more...only to be dog piled. I'm not talking about you, you and Raban are very understanding. I'm referring to GAFers.
It reminds me of super pro-Africa black people who get upset over the slightest slights. Yes there is plenty of stuff to be mad about, but getting upset because Joe Blow thought Cleopatra was white...eh. There are people who are willfully ignorant about shit like that, but there are also those who are confused after years of misinformation.
