Yeah, in the last year or two they've been showing games off pretty early in Directs. X and Bayo 2 are noteworthy examples.

On the other hand, they announced Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire only six months before release.

Joking aside, if he's played the other two in the series and wants to play the third, it's stupid to avoid Origin for the sake of one title in a series you enjoy. But that's just me. If those people have the conviction and hate to avoid something "evil" to them, more power to them.   I still find it -worthy.

Probably. Like I said: More people to those sorts of people. But the "will power" to do that for one game in a series is just to me. I'd capitulate and deal with the other clients for those few titles that are exclusive to said clients than skip them. *shrug*

The whole "BUY. EVERYTHING." mentality from gamers from is both damaging and ridiculous. The abject commercialism that gamers express is probably the worst I've seen from any one fanbase. With gamers, it's release day or bust, more often than not, which creates a legacy of inflated hype for the most undeserving of products. I neglected playing my most hyped game of 2013 - Grand Theft Auto V - for nearly two months to offset my unrealistic expectations. When you you're that hyped, it can't be that healthy. But for some reason gamers revel in it.

HL2 was one of the most immerssive games ever made. The gunplay and the vehicle controls were wonky as fuck but who cares. If you can't enjoy that unrivaled atmosphere, pacing and music then

A lot of my times are off as well because I idle a lot in some games, especially PoE. The number is not far from the truth tough, especially considering that this is only the time since its Steam release. :suicide BUT my backlog is rapidly evaporating. Only about 40 of my 298 games are unplayed.
