I wonder if there's some kind of scientific way to maintain discourse on an online community. Like some kind of asymptotic curve for the amount of sub money new users have to pay, which goes up as the board increases in size.

100-500: $1
500-1000: $5

etc.

This also increases the risk a user faces by posting something bannable. Like, they'd be paying $1 since they got in early but then if they're banned they suddenly have to pay $10. Would help deter banned alts.

You know, I can't relate to almost anything in that post, but I will say that I do sometimes kind of get nostalgic thinking back to the time in my life when I could do almost literally nothing all day but sit around and watch TV and play video games. There were a lot of detrimental things that went along with being a giant loser that just loafed around all day at my parents' house, but now that I'm in the phase of my life where almost anything vaguely resembling free time has disappeared as a result of increasing work and familial responsibility, the good ol' days of having fuck all to do from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed don't sound so bad.

But of course, this is kind of a tangent and has nothing to do with changing anime preferences. I have no insight on that front.
