Also maybe it's just me but it seems PSN is especially poor with Ultra, worse than AE was. Sometimes it's basically like playing underwater.

Netcode can definitely be iffy.  People have been complaining about it for both PS3 and 360...and also in AE 2012 post-Steamworks on PC.

Saw some inspiring stuff with Elena last night, but I think I'm gonna end up settling for Poison, Hugo, and Decapre, with classic Chun, T. Hawk, and Rose usage.

Sometimes it feels like using Decapre is like playing in easy mode.  You can really shut people down with little effort in some match-ups.

Omg Fuerte is so fun! I decided to pick him up after seeing a dude dominate with him in a tourney and he's a great character. Dat mixup game, the speed, the mindfuckery, such a fun dude. It's scary when I make mistakes and start feeling my low health but if I keep my head on straight I can carve away the other dude no problem.

I remember trying him back in Super and just not liking his damage at all but that seems to be a lot better now fun stuff

Been having loads of fun with Decapre and Poison.  Hugo too.  It's awesome destroying people with him in particular.  Sometimes I get totally schooled but it's still a good time.

Playing on PS3 and online works surprisingly well for me, although it takes quite a while to get matches thru fight request. It's still a bit bothersome that you can only choose between 'same' or 'any' region, considering Norway is quite small and going full-on global pits me against Brazilians and shit, but eh.

also loading on ps3 is trash, even compared to earlier ps3 versions, like, holy hell capcom...

Only Vanilla and AE came out on PC. Super was console only, never hit PC or arcades. AE will probably hit $7.50 some time during the Steam sale for those that want it cheap, it always does.

Continuing to love Poison now that I've got her AA down a bit more. Those fireballs of hers are just too amazing, love the recovery on them. My big issue with her now is I'm not sure what to do in the corner, just seem to get locked down with no recourse.

I love me some Poison -80s style - but I seem to do better with Decapre.

I love using Hugo and Poison just because of their character designs.  Hugo looks better in sprite form and looks a bit too goofy at times in SFxTK/Ultra though.

That's the one thing from Steamworks AE I like, it always has mic on by default so you can hear people raging on the other end even when they think their mic is off.

Haven't found a straight answer on this so I'm hoping someone here can help. Are the new character trials on the disc or is it the same ones from Super SF4?

No new trials when I downloaded on ps3. Went into SuperIV mode, just like AE did. Are they doing more (as DLC)?

When the DLC version of Ultra came out I believe Capcom said that the new trials would be coming later. I assumed they meant the full game download/disc release but now I'm not sure.

Following the release of Ultra Street Fighter 4 in Japan today, Capcom has announced that an update patch that addresses a number of known bugs will be released tomorrow, August 8, for the PS3, X360 and arcade versions of the game.

This update is not a rebalance patch, but rather fixes some of unintended properties on a number of characters' moves. Most notably, with this update, Rolento's invisible wall jump and Poison's while-rising glitch will be removed.

Honestly not shocked at the Decapre changes but I still think they are dumb. If she's supposed to be offensive-focused why increase charge times? Especially on her Spiral Arrow. Makes no sense to me.

With regards to the anomaly we've confirmed to exist in the August 8 update

The August 8 update (PS3/Xbox 360/PC/AC) for Ultra Street Fighter 4 contained changes to the characteristics for a few fighters that were unintended.

Rolento
EX Stinger (3 hit) -> Close standing MP would no longer connect.

Decapre
Psycho Sting and DCM's charge time were increased by 10 frames.

As the changes listed above would affect the balance of the game, we're currently looking into a fix for these issues. Once we have something new to report on the situation, we'll let you know on this blog.

Played a crazy good Poison player on Steam last night.  He was already up to almost 4000 BP with her.  Spammed those fireballs like there's no tomorrow and shut down Hugo, although I almost got him in the rematch.

The "nerf" was just a 10 frame increased charge time for her Ultras.  Stupid, but not character breaking.  Decapre is fun to use once you get the hang of her.  I love that she has an actual overhead, too -something Cammy is missing- and even now, two months after release, people will still crouch and leave themselves open to it once you get them cornered.   

But I've been all about Hugo lately.  He's too much fun and it pisses a surprisingly large number of people off to lose to him.

hahaha that wake up FA at 1:33. Guy fucking panicked. When I used to go to my (no longer) local weekly fighting game lan/arcade I almost always played against this incredibly good Ibuki, and this was back when I first picked Cody up... after the first knockdown it was usually gg for me :'(
