The funny thing is that the Browns have a really good o-line but Manziel won't stay in the pocket. He's going to get killed.

Russell Wilson is a small guy who puts in the work to succeed. I don't see Manziel showing up at 6AM to watch film before practice.

Playing for the Browns is a bit like being on the injured reserve, I'll give you that.

Pathetic. Dude is one of the best WRs in the league, just an amazing talent. You'd think that all a team would have to do is email Charles Roger's wikipedia page to a player to convince him that smoking weed just isn't worth it. You have millions of dollars...you can't find something fun to do outside of smoking?

Also, PD, you cool with this Van Noy guy?

Lions swap picks with the Seahawks and take Kyle Van Noy. Great pick, definitely feels good.
:rejoice

fun fact: he played at BYU with our 2013 #5 pick, Ziggy Ansah, and literally taught him how to play football.

Browns could have gotten LSU's Donte Moncrief in the third round just now (solid WR), took a LB instead.

Really love the Steelers draft so far:

1) Ryan Shazier, LB
2) Stephon Tuitt, DE
3) Dri Archer, RB
4) Martavis Bryant, WR

Little confused by the Archer pick although you can't argue with the second fastest 40 posted in the history of the combine.  We need a CB in the later rounds though.

If he can't win the punt/kick returner job then he imight be traded.

I really feel the Niners wasted LMJ. They barely ever let the RB release into a passing route and Kaepernick is never looking for that sort of play anyways. Their offense is a waste of James' talents.

Still don't like the first pick, I love the second round pick, we got our center of the future in the third. The rest of the picks were defense outside of a slot receiver and kicker, not bad. We'll see how this goes. I wanted a CB or S who could start, we didn't get one.

This is it now, no more excuses for Stafford. He now has:

-Megatron
-Golden Tate
-Eric Ebron
-Reggie Bush
-Joquie Bell
-Joseph Fauria
-One of the best offensive lines in the NFL
(and whoever will be the #3 WR)

You could give that to Tony fucking Romo and get 5,000 yards, 40+ TDs and a top 5-10 offense in the league.

When I look at the schedule I see 8 wins, but obviously things change; I saw 8 wins last year when we should have gotten 9-10 due to the other QBs in our division literally dying; instead we got 7. The Lions have put all their chips on an explosive offense. If it doesn't translate into 10 wins and a playoff berth, it's a failure. I think Caldwell and Mayhew get two years at the most to do something (playoff win). If that doesn't happen they need to be broomed out, Stafford is gone, and we will have wasted Megatron's prime.

All or nothing time.

Manziel is going to be a bust. I'd say "huge bust" but considering he fall to the late first round it won't be a "huge" as if he was a top 10 pick. Good arm but you can't run around like that in the NFL, especially if you're that small. If he was Vince Young's size sure, he'd have a chance.

The biggest problem is that he's not a hard worker and has been coddled for most of his life. This is a guy who didn't have to do various team work outs at Texas A&M, allegedly doesn't study game tape, and constantly makes reckless throws.

And as if to ensure he fails, the Browns didn't get him any receivers this weekend. Good luck!

Accuracy...and having a 6'5 receiver who can catch overthrown passes with ease.

Same thing with Stafford. I could throw jump balls to Megatron and get 200 yards passing.

Lions release their starting CB due to a bad toe injury
http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2014/06/detroit_lions_release_chris_ho.html

Remember when the Lions had the #10 draft pick, knew one of their starting CBs would miss training camp and the start of the season, yet still took a luxury tight end? Good times.

I changed the thread title. Seattle is the blueprint, so why aren't we paying attention? SMH

Man...I thought he was going to be a damn good QB. He was for his rookie year, and a couple years afterward. But years of not studying the playbook and not being a leader ended his career.

It's crazy that he can't get a job as a back up QB holding a clip board.

Vince, to me, is a classic case of why you don't pamper young people as athletes. It stunts their growth as a person, and when it's time for them to be professional, they're not use to having to do that sort of shit because everyone has kissed their ass for their entire life. You're not a Longhorn anymore, Vince. Fucking get used to it and put in the work.

I remember someone mentioning Vince would be a fuck up after he refused to dress decently when Texas went to the White House; he wanted to skip the trip but his mom convinced him to go. Shit was just so stupid.

And now that Charlie Strong is in charge of the Texas football program I doubt he can get a job there; Charlie don't play that shit. Nor is he a good enough...communicator to get a broadcasting job.

Training camps are starting. Lions camp opens on Monday, can't wait. This is definitely my most anticipated season in ages. Really don't know what to expect. The Lions schedule looks tough and I sense an 8-8 type failure but we also have enough weapons to win 10+ games and make the playoffs. Dunno.

We're running out of time. Megatron is about to turn 29. If we waste his prime like we wasted Barry Sanders...

There are 3 certainties in football media coverage:

1) The Cowboys will get covered as a legit post-season threat no matter how shitty they are
2) The Redskins will get covered as a legit post-season threat no matter how shitty they are
3) Whoever the hot new rookie QB is will get treated as a legit player no matter how shitty he is or what team he plays on (Manziel might actually be good one day, but covering him like this is distinguished mentally-challenged and why I don't follow sports media.)
