Bought this the other day. It's supposed to be some School Days, Doki Doki Literature Club tier dating sim/psychological horror game. Plus character design from the artist of Super Sonico.

*I played this game when it released on the JastUSA store on May 5th 2020. I played it for 12 hours straight because I just could not put it down.

This game is a 100% must for anyone who likes visual novels. It's short but it is well worth the price tag given the experience you'll get out of it. I don't want to say to much because it's a game that is ruined if you know too much. Don't look anything up buy it and play it.

That being said one massive massive downside to the steam release is that it does not include H content. I found this out by fast forwarding through Miyuki route. I personally really dislike H content in VNs as that's not why I read them and I find I just want to get back to the story at hand so unless I'm explicitly told I have to (Usually cause they're funny I.E. type moon) I just skip them. This game is the one exception to that. I think that this game actually gets ruined if you play it without H content. Every H scene is 100% necessary for plot and character progression. I don't know if there's a patch for adding H content back into the steam version but if there is not please purchase the DRM free version on JastUSA because your experience will not be as good without it. If there is a patch make sure you install it after buying the steam version. You might think that there's no way I'm serious but once you play it with H content still there you will understand what I mean.

Please play this game it's phenomenal


Edit: To reply to my comment that asks if it's worth the money (since steam still doesn't let you reply to comments or DM people you don't have added for some reason) I have spent $65 CAD purchasing this game twice so while it only ran me 12 hours I do not regret the money I spent and I loved it so much I felt they deserved more of my money and I honestly think they deserve more. That's how much I loved my experience.

One girl goes "boop boop boop" a lot, and then asks if you want to "get zappy" to recharge her batteries. When you ask her what get zappy means, she says it means have sex. The game didn't allow me to get zappy with her at that point, although there are H-scenes.

Supposedly some of the later character stories get more difficult, but I haven't gotten that far yet.  Looking at just the game play, it's not very good- too easy, track design is "eh," and it's not like anyone is going to be doing multiplayer.  But add in the story and other wacky stuff like the mini games and it's fun enough overall for what it is. 

What was released was apparently not what they intended the game to be- Sony's policy changes forced them to leave a bunch of stuff out.  Originally there was going to be a much bigger focus on the watergun combat (with exploding clothes, of course).

I don't get why the developer's response to Sony has just been to give a sad "we had to cut our games.  It can't be helped" instead of giving them the finger and releasing the games as intended on other platforms, or just cutting whatever content for PS4 and releasing them uncut on PC/Switch.  It worked for the Omega Labrynth devs and with niche games like these, the consumer base likely already has the other platforms or will go buy them just for these games.

Only more difficult in a relative sense, it's still stupid easy. In the later races the AI might keep stay on the screen with you for a half a lap. The hardest race is the one right after you unlock the evil team GRINDCORE (lol) and you have to race with them without being able to customize their jet ski. You actually have to use weapons and boosts to win.  But then in the next race you unlock all your stuff and can go back to being OP.

To be completely honest, I thought that the growth of Ryza’s thighs was a supposed belief exaggerated for comedic effect, but when seeing her appearances compared right next to each other like this, you can undeniably see that her thighs in the third entry are the biggest they have ever been. They even rub together at this point. It’s pretty wild stuff—immense thanks to the development team, especially the character designer Toridamono for their efforts.

It's funny, as I've gotten old I've lost the embarrassment of uguu booby anime games.

I don't really play them, but like as long as they aren't being creepy, in today's market where all forms of media is SUPER SERIOUS    , anime games where it's just dumb jokes and the old "oh no I slipped and fell on your tits" are kind of nice throwback to Japanese games/anime I played/watched as a kid before the world went to shit.

Like, would definitely be up to play some of the Atelier games at some point with zero shame. I mean I'm playing Utawarerurmono now and it's plenty waifu but also a pretty solid srpg.

I finished Kara no Shoujo. It was one of the better VNs I've played, but I still don't really like VNs that much. I like the puzzle/mystery ones like Ace Attorney and Zero Escape, but the ones that are just all talky and figure out the cryptic flags to advance, I just don't really do well with. I was hoping this would be more like the former ones, but the amount of times you use your detective skills are pretty limited. There are a few where you have to select a possible suspect based on the evidence you've been given, and those are usually really easy if you're even half-way awake. Like one where you have to accuse a doctor, but there are only four doctors that you know and one of them has already been arrested for something else and one of them is a woman and you know the perp is a male, so it's basically 50-50 even if you're asleep. The worst though are the investigation scenes. There will basically be 5 or 6 hot spots that you can click on and have your guy deduce something, but in most of them, you have to click the hotspots in the right order, or the scene ends prematurely without you finding some crucial evidence, locking you into a bad end path!  Like, you have to click on the small bookshelf, then click on the large bookshelf, then click on the large bookshelf again to find some crucial clue. For God's sake, don't click on the large bookshelf first, then click on the small bookshelf, or else the scene abruptly ends and you discover two hours later that you were playing on a bad end path when your character is brutally murdered. 

I ended up using a guide for most of the game, fuck it. I don't have the patience for this type of "gameplay". The plot is pretty good, if you're looking for something fucked up and pretty depressing. Just to give you an idea of how depressing this game is, in order to get a "Good" ending, you have to let someone get murdered. Not your character, but you the player have to take certain actions that will avoid your character being able to save a person's life in order to get the "Good" end.

During the game, a girl gets hit by a car and paralyzed, and has to have all her limbs amputated to save her life. That's pretty messed up and there's nothing you can do to stop that, but of course it gets worse. She gets kidnapped by some psycho who wants to use her as a living art installation. In one of the bad endings, the killer gets killed by his own father and you recover the girl still alive and return her to the hospital. In all of the Good endings and even the True final end, the killer escapes justice with the girl's corpse and neither are ever found. Oh btw, this girl is basically your canonical girlfriend.  Although you can get close to and have sex with around a dozen women and you're never really officially dating any of them, there are the most scenes with her and her route leads to the true ending. The true ending where she's hit by a car, then murdered, then has her corpse absconded with by an insane murderer.

BTW, although one insane murderer gets away, there are multiple insane murderers in this game, and the good endings do lead to you do bringing down the "Big Bad" who has haunted you for years. So...yay?

Finally getting around to play Kara no Shoujo Part 2, which is finally on Steam after another company bought the rights to the trilogy and did an HD remaster of 1 & 2. I had to go back and find this post so I could remember wtf happened at the end of Part 1. Okay yeah, now I remember.  Except for minor retcon I guess...

the limbless girl wasn't actually dead, she's still alive with the kidnapper and has just given birth to the MC's child at the beginning of Part 2.
