What doesn't GAF understand about the concept of access. Boogie gets access to a variety of shit, and naturally that shit can be rescinded. That's how the entire game journalism/review industry works, same with music. Give us what we want and you get x - invitation to an "exclusive" event, access to developers for interviews, exclusive scoops or gameplay footage, etc.

But posting in 4chan lingo suddenly invalidates everything he said... because "4chan is misogynist" and other such bullshit by people "saying something mean about gamers"/don't understand 4chan's culture. Ubi has historically sucked at open-world game design, but from what I've seen of Unity thus far it's looking like the game AssCreed 2 should have been. I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic, however if the game comes together as well as Ubi has been claiming then it'll probably be my GOTY and may replace the original as my favourite (yes, I'm one of those people ).

AC4 > AC2 trilogy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AC 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AC3.

I do agree that 3 is the worst entry in the mainline series thus far: it's more buggy than usual, the setting isn't architecturally or aesthetically interesting at all, and traversing the frontier during the winter is an exercise in frustration.

here, let me give you the recap.  first, i assume you know a bit about gamergate and all that shitstorm.  ex-bf of indie feminist game dev has the pout heard 'round the world over her fucking another dude while they were on a break.  a small group of 4channers see this as their chance to oust women and social progressives from gaming for good under the guise of wanting more journalistic integrity.  they hack the shit out of people, threaten others, etc.  anita sarkeesian has the bad/good timing to release her latest video, leading to some big names retweeting it, which alerts nutball actor Adam Baldwin, who coins the hashtag #gamergate.  leigh alexander writes an articles pissing all over the morons, saying we need to get rid of the word 'gamer' because it has too much baggage, in her usual inflammatory style. a whole ton of decent people get roped into giving power to the movement because they're feeling defensive about the perceived attack from the media and, to be honest, the gaming audience and the gaming media have needed to have a proper sit-down with each other for a while. 

here's where boogie (francis, not raphael) comes in, because he seems to be one of these gamers who feels pretty discontent with gamers and gaming being criticized, both the way leigh did it *and* the relatively benign way anita sarkeesian does.  he's unhappy with the gaming media's hostile attitude towards gamers, so he endorses the #gamergate tag apparently to promote being good to each other or something.  GAF, and I assume others, go in pretty hard on the guy, asking him if he knows its origins and pushing him to drop the hashtag.  he spins around for a day or so, saying he wants to make good from the bad or something, sets people off again by chucking in his support with CH Sommers, a pretty controversial figure, then finally relents and ditches the tag.   GAF (and others) are sated.

today's development is that he was posting on 4chan at the same time, talking out of the other side of his mouth.  also he used the lingo of 4chan, which is acceptable for 4chan, but would probably get you kicked out of an Olive Garden if you used it with your waiter.  now GAF hungers for blood once more, and unfortunately for boogie, there's a lot of blood in that boy, both literal and figurative.
