In 2014? Almost every place I go for game news: SA, RPS, GB, Touch Arcade, has references to neogaf from its readers. On a huge Sims fansite, Mod The Sims, they linked the Sims 4 OT and thought it was an article. Neogaf is huge. Neogaf is pretty much the one stop place for news and people are referencing it in their articles and posts all the fucking time. I've never seen anyone mention 4chan or r/gaming in the same sense nor manner. Let's be clear, gaf isn't ign, or gb, or anything like that, but it's referenced pretty commonly in online gaming circles.
