As someone who is transgender I face a lot of unique discrimination and hardship that has helped shaped my views and harden most of them. I know what's needed to help people like me, and all (or nearly all) are liberal positions.

I, for example, couldn't talk or associate myself with someone of conservative or libertarian bent. They likely take positions that either hurt or hinder my being able to make my life a success because they either don't fully comprehend what's going on or stick to some value so vehemently (that may or may not be good) that they end up taking a really dumb position.

He's one of those guys that, like Jon Stewart made his bread caking off how blatantly distinguished mentally-challenged some of the decisions and general aesthetic of the  Bush administration and it's supporters. Liberals at the time had kind of a feeling of being the whipping boys back then (kind of like how conservatives seem to now), so they resorted to people like BM to deliver a sort of "look at this distinguished mentally-challenged fellow" style humor. The difference is that the Daily Show actually were funny in the first place. In their heyday they were insightful, masterful at baiting conservatives into ethering themselves, and cleverly integrated a bunch of different characters to turn it all up to 11. Maher on the other hand was more like the Tom Green of political humor. Crude, heavy handed, even downright hypocritical or needlessly offensive smug garbage.

Thank god we are where we are now, and nobody gives this regressive dickhead dap.
