We get it, Assassins and Templars have been warring forever. Just say this one is set here and let the dumb meta shit go.

The meta plot is part of the series though. Abstergo/Templars are delving into Assassin/"Subject" minds/bloodlines to find stuff they couldn't because the Assassin's hid it from them. That's why they capture people and have some people delve it in Abstergo and since the series got popular, they put a tongue-in-cheek reference in in regards to them doing "games" from the Subject tests as the Assassin Creed titles (just not titled that way in not breaking the fourth wall)

It's till super dumb though. Especially since they missed the boat on making an AC game in modern times with Desmond.

I'll admit, they lost me with that quickly thrown together ending for Desmond. But the meta plot in 4 was basically "get these documents to Rebecca and Shawn. You don't know these people (wink wink players) and then Juno is a god in the machine to where one character in 4's Animus comes out to try to kill you."

I dunno if Rogue and Unity will fix that, but they did move past Desmond to where the "meta plot" is very minimal now.

The fact that CoD is one of the least broken games this fall is so 

Destiny/Halo/AC/Driveclub were all either horribly overhyped messes or hilariously undercooked.  Halo needed a 15GB title update pre-launch since it launched in such a unfinished state  Assassin's Creed was worked on by more people than the population of a small country and can't manage to run on any platform without a litany of glitches. Destiny was just a huge ball of hype, and Driveclub still doesn't work online.  And people wonder why CoD is the franchise that it is.  At least the game reliably works.

Also Far Cry 4 looks like a goddamn reskin. Dragon Age and COD are the games of the fall

They hid Unity being trash so well. it actually looked decent until a week or two ago. Lords Of The Fallen is alright, Shadow Of Mordor owned, Drive Club is shit, Alien is not a game I enjoy at all, Enemy Within was flabby and sick.

This fall was whack with the exception of Mordor, COD, Lords, Dragon Age and an up-port of a year old game

The main seller (MP) is broke as a joke right now. And people can't play Halo 1 (which is what 20-40% of the base bought it for since they never played the PC version) in matchmaking outside of a private match or something IIRC.

Anyway, with the newest Ass Creed being broke two years after the last "broke" one, hopefully this means Ubisoft will put more time into them.

(Who am I kidding? They'll find a non-Sailing gimmick to exploit and make a good one a la AC4. )
