I enjoyed Resident Evil 6 a lot, but I'll be the first to admit the game is weird and really fucked when it comes to pacing and design. Sometimes you gotta admit to yourself that you like something other people think is shit

The Evil Within is definitely a title revolving around defensiveness, based on who made it and how it mimics RE4 a lot of the time. Seeing The Evil Within gameplay made me want to replay RE4 or play Dead Space.

Playing RE6 the first time felt like playing MGS1 the first time-- I touch the controller and the character just falls on the ground and does random shit

unlike MGS1, I wasn't compelled to keep playing, though I hear it's fun once you get the controls down.

I didn't mind the over the top action route Resi 6 took. 5 started the change but it wasn't so blatantly obvious. 6 had better shooting and ended up being a Japanese take on an Uncharted type game.

The only claim to fame 6 has is mercenaries. The campaign is straight up

ARMA is the game that takes like two hours before you can get figure out how to get into vehicles and stop yelling out random commands instead of doing whatever basic task you're trying to accomplish. And then you run for another two hours to the battlefield because you can hear it but have no idea how to spawn further up or what 90% of the map means. And then you figure out how to spawn some tank and wind up blowing up all the vital base buildings by accident because of a bug that occurred because your cursor was two pixels to the left.

I may have exaggerated a bit.

Of the RE"s I've played:

4 > 2 > 5 > 1 > 3 > REmake > 0 >>>>>> CV

CV is awful. Sup bandersnatches. Sup Tyrant you use a billion ammo on in the cargo plane. Sup 40 minutes to an hour without a typewriter. Worst RE game ever. I played RE6's demo and it was terrible but I still had more fun than the entirety of CV but not enough that I was willing to plunk money on it.

They hate the co-op and say it's impossible to play it without a co-op partner. Meanwhile, I beat every mode and got 1000/1000 without playing co-op once. Step your game up.

5 is the most feature rich RE by a mile. Oodles and oodles of content and replay value. It's not better than 4, but 4's the best game ever.
