I saw it for the first time two weeks ago, and love it. On the other hand, my already modest impression of TLoU was diminished by half, along with a lot of the respect I had for ND.

I'm all for games taking inspiration from movies, but TLoU took it and lazily applied it.

The Departed is good, but not great. No where near Scorsese's best.

The Departed hasn't aged well. I still think it's good but I'm not nearly as impressed with it as I was upon seeing in the theater and first buying the DVD.

those were some classic days on The Bore. Shake, Cheebs, and me defending the film against endless trolls. But in hindsight...it drags in multiple parts, some of the dialogue is VERY forced, and there's a layer of cheese to it. Like the drug deal with the Asians or some of Nicholson's more egregious over acting; it reminds me of Pacino in Heat.

Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors.

One of my best friend's said the perfect explanation for Tom Cruise. When you look into his eyes, he seems soulless. To me, Tom not having a soul means he can be anyone doing anything. He's probably crazy or mentally ill in reality, being a Scientologist sorta guarantees that.

Robert Deniro would be my favorite if he didn't flush his career down the toilet the past 20 years. What he did in Taxi Driver alone shits on a ton of other actors.

Never really thought about it. I suppose philosophically I'm more inclined to creative work that requires something beyond machinery to create.

Waltz has P beat when it comes to evocative scenes, it just lacks a certain humanity that P has in spades.

I used to be firmly in the There Will Be Blood>No Country For Old Men camp but TWBB isn't nearly as re-watchable as No Country to me. It's an amazing film that blows me away on many levels...but I'll take the Coens here. I've never seen a film that made me feel like a hostage in a theater like this.

Chigurh holds both of his weapons at his side. Moss slowly reaches towards a gun on the floor, but instead picks up a cigarette mere inches away from it.

No Country is great. Sometimes shit just happens, no rhyme or reason to it. I wish they'd added more of Ed Tom's inner dialogue from the book, though. I like it when movies/books take chances like that, resist wrapping everything up all neat and tidy and hollwoody. Y'all sound like my elderly mother, who hated Alfred Hitchcock Presents because sometimes it would leave off open-ended and sometimes the killer would get away

Blood Meridian? That's overrated. I've read it about four times now, because McCarthy writes so pretty, but I still think all the characters come off more as "Characters" and not so much as actual human beings.
