But he's also mad, so technically it applies.

Does Wifi affect your sleep?

Quote

Test: I have a Netgear Nighthawk on the outside of one of my Bedroom walls. I set it to turn off WiFi at 10:30 PM and turn it on at 6:30 AM. Now I had zero expectations of this changing anything but I figured why not, it is easy enough to try. I also removed anything else from the bedroom that was 2.4ghz such as the cordless phone etc. My Cell phone I tossed into Airplane mode.

Unscientific results: I woke up the next morning like usual, my Wife who didn't know what I was doing, said her throat didn't hurt and she slept really well. Over the few weeks she stopped snoring and wasn't complaining about being able to stay asleep. I myself started to dream, weird ones at that. I felt refreshed and just left the schedule for the Wifi to turn off.

One night my Wife stayed up late and the wireless turned off, I killed the schedule so she could keep watching Netflix. That night she was snoring again and had for the following month and I stopped dreaming. I turned the wireless off again last night and this morning she felt great and I had a dream I was Daredevil and Chris Pratt was my Brother and we were protecting a baby from a group of villains that use electricity on the floors, weird right?

Could be just a placebo effect but the fact that my Wife had no idea I was turning it off until she wasn't able to use Netflix and I didn't have to listen to her snore or complain makes me think there is some credibility to the theory. I am not going to go overboard but there were no other changes that we made lifestyle wise, I was already eating healthy and working out so it wasn't that.
OH!

One of the funniest moments in movie history is at the beginning of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? when Bob Hoskins says something like, "This is Los Angeles kid, best public transportation in the world!"

Benji's point still applies. Until you get those light rail systems to rural areas that travel 20-50 miles to get groceries, mass transit isn't going to be a problem solver.

Portland has some of the easiest transit I've encountered. One glaring problem though is how many lines just stop between 8 and 10pm. Makes going back to certain neighborhoods a chore and the bus lines running through certain areas to get home later at night are  :kobeyuck

toronto has the potential for decent transit, but the prices and lack of innovation due to operator unions keep us stuck in the 1990s

not to mention that for some reason we've chosen to build billion dollar subway lines with a daily ridership of 50,000 rather than LRT systems that would serve many times that for much less money

More like :ustupid in reverse, Dennis. You're coming from a Euro perspective. Benji is totally in the right. The only way "LA's problem will be solved with mass transit!" would be to contract the entire city, which isn't ever going to happen.

LA has an excellent public transportation system that no one with any income uses. Shit one of my coworkers is from Florida and he fucking Ubers to work every day instead of taking the bus.

That's the other problem, there's a stigma about only the homeless or poor using mass transit. Throw in the "late night crazies," and it's not hard to understand why some people avoid the bus.

(Along the fares, which really is just Gas in a different form)
