I was replying to that thread too about how the only reason they were scandals is the Clintons are sloppy at cover ups. Like a dozen people were indicted over Whitewater, there's no way they both survive that if he's not elevated to the Presidency. He was and they still walked the fuck into it because of Bill's stupidity with his dick. The FBI thing was potentially a serious crime.
The cattle futures are just fun to make fun of because of how blatant it was.
There's a tendency in young Hillary supporters to immediately go for the "that's old news, it's all been covered, Republican lies" and lump it in with other stuff like Vince Foster's murder, Benghazi, etc.
But these crimes and corruption happen in every administration and rarely does anyone get convicted. Iran-Contra, everybody got pardoned out of that like Clinton did for Whitewater. The fucking HUD scandals! Savings and Loan crisis! Who's the one guy in the W. Bush admin who went down for something? Scooter Libby, and he went down for not keeping his story straight about gossip.
It's kinda interesting reading the Corbyn/Labour threads because you still have people raging at Blair over Iraq (slightly less so over his Third Way shift to the "right" oddly) and others saying to move on. Hillary's vote, everything the Bush admin did, torture even! Nobody got charged or anything. We aren't going back to that stuff either. It should still be fucking valid to bring up if John Yoo or somebody runs for President no? It seems like it'll just be, you're fighting old battles again! Everybody covered that and there was nothing! Especially because of how the media was implicated.
Even Trump seems to be avoiding everything. Even if (or probably because?) a lot of it is just par for the course (ha! a pun!) real estate corruption.
