At my employer a few months ago, a directive was sent out where we had to tell our direct reports that political disagreements do not warrant a report to HR.

I think that social media and internet connecting the world in general is a blessing and a curse. Too much personal information that's too easily to find. Just with that seems to make those Keyboard Activist being more bold and kick things up a notch. In a way that there are so many signal to noise that people feel powerless to do much good. So by fucking with a person on a personal level it feels like they're making a difference in the world.

I don't know, just me rambling, but it feels like that with the advancement of technology and social media, people are feeling less incline to be tolerant and see other people's point of view because they can just retrieve into their own safety bubble. And that safety bubble is very strong on gaf.

It's pretty amazing how the game was everything I expected, yeah

Maybe overblown but I believe it has been said that the game would have been maybe scraped altogether if full indie development (following the flood of their offices ? Not sure.). But yeah, it was both a blessing and a curse for them. Hard to assess how large the refunds are, but I imagine people over at Sony are not exactly relishing the kind of publicity by association they are getting over this.
