It is Republican Trekkies that weird me out. How all that heavy-handed social commentary can fly right past them is beyond me.

Lik-Sang was the 'clean' branch of a very oldschool hk company that used to be the biggest exporters of snes/genesis console copiers in the early '90 and eventually n64/saturn/psx stuff. You used to see ads about them in intro loaders at the start of scene releases of console games of the era.

So gaffers are crying about a store originally linked to heavy duty warez groups, copiers companies and psx silvers corps.

Piracy was pretty much the legit market then in HK, right ? (And now i guess...)

None of those things are about saying something meaningful like Star Wars and Mass Effect used to be before capitalism got ahold of them.

That is why I am saying Lime is an obvious troll.

Come on, Star Wars and Mass Effect were hyper-commercial from the inception. Lime is taunting GAF by making the trolling super obvious.

I don't know man. Some very rational and reasonable people fell real deep down the social justice hole. Look at Aronra from youtube for instance. The guy used to make really great educational video on evolution while shutting down creationists, and now is all like "If you're not a feminist you're a sexist herp derp"

Voted early last week

My fiance and I took the two boys, my mom and our 90 year old neighbor. I've been a Hillary supporter since (forever) 2008. Worked on her campaign then, and been volunteering again this time. I only cried for about 10 minutes when I finally FINALLY got to vote for her in the General. It was also emotional seeing my mom and my neighbor get to vote for the first woman to have a chance at winning. It was a big deal for them.
oh adam

Quote
Question for other voters. There's a lot of down ticket elections on my sample ballot, more than there usually are. I'm worried I'm going to forget the names of some of them, since a lot of them are non-partisan. Am I allowed to bring a note card with me into the voting booth?

Couldn't find anything specific in a google search.
Quote
Pretty convenient way of doing things, tbh... but there are SO many things on the ballot! Not just initiatives and constitutional amendments, but people too! I have to elect 12 judges, and none of them have party affiliations or anything else I can see. Plus I have to vote for things like "Superintendent of Public Instruction", and "Insurance Commissioner", with no clue on what these jobs really entail, and who the people running for them are. Should I leave options like these blank, or try to research all my choices for these two dozen or so people?
oh overeager first time voters

I just assume most republicans have stopped watching movies as they have essentially become the villians in most movies made for decades now.
Quote
Republicans are generally blind to their parallels with villains unless it's really overt.

Wall-E and The Muppets are the only things in recent memory that have caused them to say "Wait, are they talking about us?"

I would have thought they'd pick up on Zootopia's pretty blatant commentary on minority profiling, but that one went over their heads, apparently.

L. Aron Nelson (born October 15, 1962), known professionally as Aron Ra, is the president of the Atheist Alliance of America,[2] the host of the Ra-Men Podcast,[3] a public speaker, video producer, blogger, and vlogger.
how is this an occupation that can sustain a family

Quote
He met Lilandra on the discussion board Christian Forums, where Aron challenged creationists that if he "could prove to their satisfaction that evolution is essentially true, they would become an evolutionist." Lilandra accepted the challenge, and arranged a debate between Aron and a few Christian evolution supporters on the one hand and several Christian creationists on the other, after which she accepted evolution. A while later she also lost her faith when she was unable to reconcile evolution with her Protestant interpretation of the Bible

Lol at Lime.

Complaining about capitalism yet forgetting that capitalism gave him his precious games.

The only game that I remember Lime actively liking it is the Homeworld franchise, everything else is just to complain or to support a percived agenda. Dennis seems to imply that there was a time where Lime actually liked video games.

The "allies" thing in the last year or two has been so weird to me. It's like a built in system to categorize and relegate people that don't line up with your view points, and if they don't they're automatically bad people. Even if you have no contact with them to know if they are or aren't allies. And if you think they aren't you're as dismissive of them as you think they are of you by default.

A forum where the alliances and rhetoric a poster signals on a given topic are the largest determinant of how strictly you will be moderated, it's no surprise to me that Gaffer arguments often devolve into zero-sum identity politics battles and masturbatory virtue signaling.

It's learned behavior conditioned over time.

Remember, when the revolution comes, I suggested they off themselves to make things easier on the colored folk. And that I was against systemic institutional racism within the police and as a result of government's war on its citizens before it was trendy with progressives.

And that you'll need a representative that Yurop will talk to.
