Blackface has connotations in American culture that it doesn't elsewhere, but Americans are generally tone-deaf to other cultures. (As they should be, since other cultures are inferior garbage.) Zwarte Piet has connotations in Dutch culture that it doesn't elsewhere and so they don't understand why Americans are trying to hold it to non-Dutch standards.

Nobody's going to bridge this disconnect on fucking GAF so it just becomes "Yeah, but America tho, you racist." "Yeah, but not America tho, you're the real racist."

I mean, you take a position that all blackface is racist or not all blackface is racist, you're going to never break the argument of the other because neither one is based on anything universal.

I've lost all respect for him because of this stunt. He didn't help anyone except his own ego. with all due respect to Geoff Keighley, the people who put the show together, and those who were nominated/won, that thing was a fucking farce at times

why, in a show put together in part to celebrate video games as a legitimate art form (or however you want to put it), are the actual awards being treated as an afterthought compared to advertisements for upcoming products

why are they taking time out of the show to say "and these games are on sale right now so please buy them"

why did the director of Deadpool have to question why the interviewer he was speaking with wasn't talking like a human being

why is the show that started by telling us to "rise above the noise" selling me fucking Schick razor blades

why did the man who was breaking down as he poured his heart out accepting the award that the elegy for his son won have to follow YouTubers cracking jokes about how heavy the award is as well as a completely fucking ridiculous segment involving a guy in a razor blade outfit

I get that you have to have ads to even make this thing possible, but if you really want to give these developers the respect they deserve, you can't run a marketing sideshow concurrent to your award show, because it just ends up looking like that one scene from Louie

Yes developers are under shitty conditions, we all get that but by dismissing the first real attempt at trying to make things right for everyone anyone who speaks out against this strike is just hurting themselves and developers because nothing will ever change if you don't start somewhere!

If this strike actually succeeds then it creates precedent going forward for all involved in game development. Sure developers are the ones who are certainly under some of the worst working conditions but how can that change if we don't start somewhere?

What many people here don't seem to understand is that by encouraging this behavior and lamenting on how horrible developers have it themselves they are only feeding into the narrative that publishers and the people in charge want you to be thinking about. They want this to be US vs. THEM so people don't come together and actually start a movement within the industry to fix all of these problems, if people actually come together and developers started striking as well for their own sakes then things could rightfully change but all this talk about how developers need this action more is undermining BOTH the VA's on strike and any potential developer strike that might happen down the road!

Nolan North speech was directly undermining the very developers and other artists he cares about. It's nice to say that developers do a more important job then he does but hes one of the fucking lucky ones that gets tons and tons of jobs all of the time, most VA's don't get that and to call them out directly just because developers also have it shitty is hurting BOTH groups and while I don't believe he intended that it just shows how ignorant of the problem he truly is... Which you'd think he wouldn't be considering his position and career but this really came off very shitty if you are aware of the strike at large and this extreme US vs. THEM mentality a lot of people have that just don't realize by going along with that mentality instead of working together they are only hurting themselves and each other at the same time!

On a good day:

Since I am nocturnal normally my first meal is 'dinner' which i share with my wife. My wife will make a main entree that's normally a lean protein, beef, chicken, or pork. Sometimes its a fattier one (we'll do steak about once a week). Normally there's something like mushrooms on the side. Sometimes we have a desert. Normally its a 100-200 calorie ice cream bar of some sort or another.

I often have a can of diet soda with dinner.

For 'lunch' which is a meal i have myself I tend to eat either a frozen meal, or a processed low carb snack. those p3 protein packs are a favorite. Sometimes I'll have one, maybe two of those.

My final meal of the day tends to be more meats. I'll have 6-7 frozen chicken wings microwaved, or a half a bag of shrimp. Good stuff.

NOW ON A BAD DAY in which my OCED or PTSD is ruling the roost, i might hit as high as 6,000 or 7,000 calories.

I'll eat mostly the same thing, but stuff in between as well as larger portions during the meals. sometimes I'll eat those usual 3 meals but also hit tacobell or mcdonalds, etc. I fuck up hard.

I haven't looked at JS/EScript's latest.

I mostly chose it because after flaming out on CS50's problems I wanted something similar in "structure" as C (which they started with) with no compiling. Since I knew HTML/CSS already (but don't use it professionally) that meant JS in similarity. But there is so many frameworks it's like "I just want to learn the base language. "
