When I was 11 or 12,  I remember coming to the existential fork in the road upon realizing Samurai Shodown RPG was not going to come out in America.  I thought to myself, "If I cry about this, what would I not cry about?  Would I be crying forever about anything?  What *is* sadness, after all, but a bittersweet moment in time?"

MOMMMM SCALEBOUND WAS CANCELLED SO I TOLD THE BOSS TO GO FUCK HIMSELF IM NOT BEING AN ELECTRICIAN UNTIL ITS TOMORROW TIME CAN YOU PICK ME UP
I've crying all day. Had to leave work early because I couldn't concentrate.

I thought people who liked shipping stopped existing somewhere before the end of middle school. :doge

(Image removed from quote.)

Though at least I don't ship cartoon characters? Yeah that's not much better. Sigh.

Who do you ship on the bore?

Me and that cute girl with the big forehead who used to post here a while ago.

Who?

I think Waychel was her name or something?

I don't think you're quite understanding what Lord Frieza is saying. He's not saying this isn't a bombshell as a whole. The report is crazy, of course it is. But he's also saying it's not surprising coming from a person who had obvious ties to Russia.

Also, yes, you keep shifting the argument about arguing whether the report is true or not. Lord is not discussing its veracity, he's discussing how shocking it is that Trump could be involved in all of the things written in the report.

You're not listening. Or rather, reading.
Quote
"It's a movement like we've never seen before..."

We are so fucked. Conservatives control the narrative. This report was unverifiable from the beginning. The golden showers shit is just one bullet point of this report and was latched on to by people to fuck with Trump and he took the bait (see his all caps tweet a couple hours after the story broke) The narrative is now dumb liberals falling for fake news. It's ridiculous

Moderators have exactly the amount of power needed to weed out threads being 0 or 100 hot takes by people only there for the fuckery on a macro scale, assuming overlord EviLore wants it so as policy.

I'm talking about the shameful dissemination of false stories by some of the most prominent US newspapers. The PropOrNot story, and the Vermont power plant hacking stories in the Washington Post were particularly egregious.

This whole narrative of scary Russian hackers undermining America is like a security blanket for liberals so they don't have to do the serious introspection about why they failed so spectacularly.

There were no credible news reports Obama was born in Kenya.

I understand many liberals are just as stupid many conservatives but this isn't really a 'omg both sides are the same' type of situation. :doge

Sure about that?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/how-buzzfeed-crossed-the-line-in-publishing-salacious-dossier-on-trump/2017/01/11/957b59f6-d801-11e6-9a36-1d296534b31e_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-main_sullivan-1240p%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.d21a5b43c29f

And yet, liberals all over my Facebook are still making pee jokes and literally making the argument that it's okay to support bad journalism because conservatives supported it when the republicans went with the birther movement.

Conservatives fall for pizzagate and liberals fall for peegate. Both sides are primed to jump on anything that makes the other side look bad. They really are the same.

That's a very good summary?

Also, can we please not refer to the MI6 agent by name?

When did this idea that NeoGAF has become a source of information that's worthy of having the attention of foreign nations. Not only do they believe that foreign nations are actively reading their threads, but a large amount of people there believe that it's 'obvious' that spies have been sewn throughout their site.

Despite his name being plastered across multiple sites, which is wrong, do you really think that Russian officials are going to check GAF and suddenly learn this information?

A diplomatic service list published by the British government shows that Steele, 52, was posted to the U.K.'s Moscow embassy in 1990 with the title of "Second Secretary (Chancery)." It's unclear how long he remained in that position, but he subsequently served as a "First Secretary" with the U.K.'s Foreign & Commonweath Office in 2003, as well as "First Secretary (Financial)" at the UK's Paris embassy in 1998.

In 2009, he co-founded Orbis, which specializes in Russian and Asian cases, along with a fellow former government intelligence official named Chris Burrows (who served as Counselor and First Secretary in the U.K. government’s Foreign and Commonweath Office from 1990-1999)  The men are listed in U.K. corporate records as equal co-owners of the firm. Steele is said to be an expert in fields as diverse as intelligence analysis and counterterrorism to business strategy and policy analysis.

In 2010, Steele was one of four former British intelligence officers who spoke a a black tie gala dinner in central London (the exact location was kept confidential from the public) that celebrated the 100th anniversary of MI6. There were various sessions held at the event, including ones led by Andrew Rostov, a retired KGB counterintelligence colonel, and Brian Kelley, a retired CIA case officer.

Look, it's fake but accurate.
Quote
BACK IN OCTOBER, a political operative and former employee of the British intelligence agency MI6 was being paid by Democrats to dig up dirt on Trump (before that, he was paid by anti-Trump Republicans). He tried to convince countless media outlets to publish a long memo he had written filled with explosive accusations about Trump’s treason, business corruption and sexual escapades, with the overarching theme that Trump was in servitude to Moscow because they were blackmailing and bribing him.

Despite how many had it, no media outlets published it.
Quote
What changed was the intelligence community’s resolution to cause this all to become public and to be viewed as credible. In December, John McCain provided a copy of this report to the FBI and demanded they take it seriously.

At some point last week, the chiefs of the intelligence agencies decided to declare that this ex-British intelligence operative was “credible” enough that his allegations warranted briefing both Trump and Obama about them
Just like the Killian memos.

Quote
Dan Rather continues to stand by the story, and in subsequent interviews has stated that he believes that the documents have never conclusively been proven to be forgeries — and that even if the documents are false, the underlying story is true
Quote
"Nobody to this day has proved these documents were fraudulent," Rather said. "The story was true."

You won't believe who brought down the president-elect of the United States. This one weird trick changed the country forever.
The weird trick? Being actual journalists.

The people who sat on this shit for so long should be fired.

People in this country actually believe that intelligence agencies bring completely unvetted information to the President [and Donald Trump]. Astounding.
This.

It's up there with scientific "theory" at this point.

People are belittling "high confidence"

Have to think Trump tax returns will be leaked eventually. In fact, I'm shocked it has not happened yet.
I think that would be a federal crime, though.

Media needs to stop being so fucking spineless. Trump shits on one of their colleagues and they do nothing.
That alone sets such a dangerous precedent. If that doesn't get them to rally behind one another, then motherfuck them all!
exactly like gamergate :ohhh

also, it's funny how much we suddenly care about precedent these days, actually really just the appearances of violating a randomly decided precedent, not actual precedent or anything

Just so I'm clear.

There was a document floating around for months, multiple news outlets had it, it's full of unconfirmed facts and nameless sources, it was leaked by Buzzfeed (24 Examples Of Corinne Being The Greatest "Bachelor" Villain Yet A short story in 24 GIFs), and GAF is creaming themselves over this?

Is that the gist or am I missing something?
