Also, Dee.

Twank's no good, that's a cool young dude and a skank. Essentially a ragdoll, just being passed around from cool young dude, to twunk, to bear to otter.

Gaf celebrating Larry Willmore on Maher when he completely faceplanted against Milo in less than 30 seconds. Fell right for the troll and got triggered hard. Tried to do some appeal to emotion stuff against Milo (of all people) and got yanked right into the vortex, and then fell silent for most of the time afterwards.

Larry Wilmore is exactly the type of liberal that makes me want to root for asshole trolls like Milo. He's one of the most annoying race-baiting morons on the planet. Everything has an explanation based on race, I get it's his schtick but good God it's a shitty one. I'm definitely watching this.

A Horizon review leaked where the reviewer only talks about the game for two paragraphs and says its so easy she could put down the controler and check texts while playing it, but keeps talking about how it's a progressive masterpiece with amazing graphics so GAF is torqing their collective snorkels to it.

Meanwhile /v/ had a stream with 5 hours of gameplay, which showed it has horrible combat, an insane amount of glitches, really bad voice acting and cutscenes and worse fetch questing than Far Cry that Sony took down even though the video was private (Someone was so mad they reported it) and are cranking out OC about how bad the game is like this.

We're gonna eat :lawd

Actually, just saw someone put up a "Highlight" video from the stream. Spoilers obviously.

We all know that the Republican party only stands for thickening its pockets and oppressing others. They continuously lie, obstruct and break down American values and institutions on a constant basis. The red states continue to support them because of their hatred for progressive American values and minorities.

Yet everyone praises Lincoln, and guess what, he started a war, over these economic and social differences within America, and the country was better for it. It seems to be that a great president, at least according to American history, should start a war against his political opponents to better America.

Next democratic presidential should put his foot down on their throats and declare the entire party treasonous.

Well, I mean, good. Let women have their vapid power fantasies too. It's a video game, not a U.N.-sponsored treatise on feminist issues plaguing the third world. We've had everything from Duke to Lester the Unlikely. If Aloy is a robo-dino killing super woman with no flaws and like, totally enough courage to get that nose ring she's wanted since 5th grade, good for her and good for women.

That being said, goddamn did Rowling overdo it with Hermione. She did literally everything in the final book, from healing Ron's bitchass to being the one to forage for mushrooms. OP as fuck.

I have a very difficult time maintaining focus on anything else. Video games and other forms of escapism just feel like a waste of time and energy now. I get anxious whenever I'm spending time shopping, or hanging out with friends, or on dates with my boyfriend because I have to pry myself from my phone for prolonged periods of time and not know what's going on in the world at that very instant. My boyfriend in particular seems to think that I have a problem. I can't say I blame him.

I've been having a really hard time with this as well. I'm constantly on my phone, obsessed with what's going to happen next. It isn't healthy, and it has taken time away from me and my family. Coming off of my Zoloft isn't helping the level of anxiety either. I'm a wreck and I'm looking for help on it.

I have deleted my Facebook account, which has helped tremendously. Even doing that, the world feels more quiet and I'm able to relax a bit. The internet really is a monkey's paw. On one hand, it's amazing to have such an instant access to information and forums of discussion. On the other hand, I feel like being tuned in to everything at once can make you lose focus on single things, which leads to unproductivity. Everything in moderation as they say, but with everything that's going on, it's difficult to not be consumed. Talking about Russia-Trump link to others makes me feel like a crazy person. Life feels stranger than fiction right now.

In case you're not aware, but I'm sure you are and you're just ignoring it for the sake of your argument -- The future of America's education is in the hands of a person that believes Public Education is a waste, teachers are overpaid, children with disabilities shouldn't be given extra care, wants to use federal funds to build charter schools, and that God/Christianity has to be at the forefront of education. Not including the fact that she has no business being the head of education because she has no experience and simply bought her position.

This isn't a simple situation of someone with differing opinions being attacked for it, she's actually in a position of power and is totally willing to use said powers to push her beliefs, which will have DIRE consequences on people with disabilities, people of color, people of different religions, and people coming from lower economic groups.

But hey, I'm sure you knew all this and just wanted to pop in with a snide comment about the left being intolerant. It's easy to say that knowing that you've got nothing to worry about in this.

You are right that there is nothing inherently wrong with women having empowered characters to the point of being "to perfect". But when I hear arguments like "Rey is the best thing to happen to Star Wars because is the character arc of Luke and having more talent than Anakin" I kind of zone out.

Feminist characters, and not vapid corporate crashgrabs, are win-win for everyone.

I read the first two volumes of Saga last year, and the fact that female ( :quark) characters are written so well and so naturally really added to how damn good it was.

Now read Sunstone.

Oh Austin Walker,
Let's not give Milo a forum to come on and debate.  Instead, let's riot and make headlines on major news outlets,  giving Milo more exposure than he could ever want.

And this guy has a college education.

You need to read his stuff pre GB.

He is pretty intelligent, but his politics tend to be grating. He admitted that he was dial it down during Gigant Bomb.

Then again, the left on Gaf seems not learned the lesson of the "deplorables" debacle

A truly equal society has equal roles for men and women characters. Women in video games are still too often either A) prizes, B) eye-candy or C) some distilled version of an idealized person. It's weird, but it is actually refreshing to have a woman in a video game just be Some Chick.

But if Guerilla didn't write her as equal parts Faith from Buffy and Joel from Last of Us, I'll eat my shorts, man.

Fuck Milo. :punch

I mean, yeah. But the point is still true. If you suck out all the air (the attention) from his fire (appearances), he won't be strong. Liberals "protesting" him are just giving him what he wants.

You realize she can be well written and still being either Some Chick or a female empowering character?

When his actually allowed to talk without crazies interrupting him his quite boring and vapid with very easily puncturable talking points. Hence his theatrical angle on his trolling it makes things feel more cutting edge than they actually are. Especially if you're talking to a room of button upped college republicans.

How some liberals have allowed themselves to get pulled into his nonsense and in a way allow him to get paid without actually having to do any work is amazing.

Milo can win debates, but he's learned that he doesn't have to if he can just rile people up. it's a mistake to fall for the bait, but it's also a mistake to think that he's going to go down easy in debate.

Also, the key to writing a good female character is the same as it always has been: Just write real characters with real responses that have real lives. Give them a life outside the story and then put them in the story.

This is also the rule for writing any character.
