If the tweet in the post I quoted is correct, it really wouldn't be that tough of a solution. The tweet implies that the bundled JoyCon have issues, but the ones sold separately do not.

If that's the case, it's as simple as "register your Switch SN on a Nintendo site and receive a free set of JoyCon" and they just send out new sets. It would take time to produce enough, but it would get sorted.

Will it be a gigantic hassle and money loser for Nintendo? Yeah. Will it be incredibly difficult for the end-consumer to overcome? No, not really.

"Guys guys, just dump 300 buckaroos on that thing, go online (lelz) to claim your free controllers replacement, wait X weeks to get them. It'll be fine. Poor Nintendo tho :("

"50 State Strategy" is such a weird cure-all obsession in PoliGAF.

It didn't work for Nixon in the original version and even Obama abandoned it in 2008. Howard Dean's version of it was just branding.

Plus even the term is strange, an actual "fifty state strategy" would account for lost causes along with locks and ignore them so as to shift resources where needed. What are they going to do try and get the GOP to negative seats in the Hawai'i Senate or something?

I'm so sick of hearing about Bernie Sanders. Like, I don't even hate the guy or blame him for anything. He had ideals and stuck to them and resonated with a lot of people and a bird or something happened (but forbid if memes happen to any other candidate).

I most am sick of hearing about him because of his ravenous followers, and yeah, most are good and just want progressive stuff to happen, but I'm sick of it because of the ones that didn't get their way and became okay with a lot of people suffering, or worse, switched to Trump, something I saw with my own eyes so maybe that's why I'm more salty over it.
It's called privilege.

I'll be blunt - what if the only way to win those mythical working class voters is to throw non-white people under the bus? Will it be OK to care about the needs of minorities and women over the WWC then?

There are no common goals with people who want socialism, but only for white people. Because that's what they want. No matter how much you talk about "universal" policies, 90% of Trump voters will still say no because brown people get a piece as well.
This is how I feel too, in almost exact measure.

Knowing and previously being close to people like my mother and father, I have no hope in converting them into decent non-racist human beings. This is the kind of thing that's rooted in upbringing. It comes from lifelong mental construction. If it is ever going to change, change will come from within. No amount of conversation geared towards changing their minds or helping them see peace is ever going to make a difference.

So if people like my parents, and many Trump fans, are a lost cause... where does that leave us?

I think back to before the election when I didn't know which ones of my friends or coworkers were racists. I didn't know which ones were misogynists. I didn't know which ones valued the safety of their guns over the safety of their fellow American. These things were below the surface and we were able to get along. We were able to coexist. I would never be close to them, or deepen my relationship with them, but we could at least function together on a basic social level.

Some days I think that that's the best we can hope for. Because you can't make a fifty year old man not a racist. But you can raise a new generation of Americans not to be. Sometimes I think if we can at least get to a point where our politics is rallied around common ground, then we can promote a culture that is a standard for progressive and liberal ideals. If we can normalize equality and liberal ideology in our culture, it will manifest in the burgeoning generation of politics.

That's why I think stuff like Star Wars having black or female leads is important too. That's the culture we want to promote and standardize, even if we have to talk about politics in regards to the issues instead of the voters.

I'm sort of rambling, but I need somewhere to talk about these ideas so that I can property digest them. I spend a lot of time in the real world not talking to anybody about this at all because the climate is so incredibly volatile. Talking about it here, even with apprehension, is important for me to find truth.
The Star Wars really makes me think, like, what happened to Obi Wan between the movies that he aged like 50 years suddenly?

Dolezal is/was actively trying to use her supposed ancestry for credibility. I don't know much about  King or what he's done, aside from a handful of tweets about police violence. If he's not going "as a black man", then that's what would make him different. Not that he would have to say it out loud for it to be manipulative, but then again, if someone is willing to accept him as a black man, then... :yeshrug

Dolezal is mentally ill. Looking at pics of King when he was younger I sorta believe him. My dad is as light as him and is a born and bred Jamaican. And I have cousins who are bi racial but could easily 'pass' as white.

A thread about the election for a DNC chair has over 1900 posts right now. I'd bet good money that a majority of the posters in there couldn't have told you who the DNC chair was prior to 2016.

I also see benji is doing that distinguished mentally-challenged thing again where he just quotes reasonable political posts without commentary.

He also said that abandoning the 50 state strategy (however you choose to define it) wasn't a big deal when the Democratic Party has sunk at the state level over that period.

Unrelated: TFW when your dank Maoism memes get likes. :lawd

This guy is kinda stupid though, brah it's okay if you do it in the manner you did, but you're not making a joke if you're the WSJ, you're committing libel. WSJ isnt a fucking stand up comedian. Like many others, he's just (poorly) attempting to remove the context of the situation. Have zero issues with him calling out the hordes for labeling people 'sellouts', that shit is dumb, youtubers arent in some legally binding defense treaty or something .

As someone who voat was kinda obsessed with for awhile, this thread is no where near voat levels. Start discussing if I'm fuck able or not and you'll be close, but not quite
Having never been to voat, what's it like on a scale of opa ages - neofeg - misc - /b/? (I have only been to opa ages a couple of times linked from here so I have no idea what it's like, but I assume it cant be worse than misc or /b/) Also, what was it that fascinated you about that place?

Voat is the new neofeg on steroids, so take that as you will. Less funny now, more 'who can out edge each other'

Ban anyone with a registered date after 2010 from posting in this thread and this thread will remarkably improve.
That might actually wipe out most activity.

Exactly.  Most people with a pre-2010 regdate have already long since moved on from GAF.  These threads can finally be laid to rest.
