So, it appears Lime has started GamerGate 2.0.

The harassment angle is pretty much a non-story compared to the viral reaction to the animations themselves and any attempt to make the former overshadow the latter seems like an attempt to either defend Bioware or create yet another battlefield in the "gamer culture war" in hopes of winning and shifting norms (another popular angle: "you don't like ugly looking characters and fucked up animations because you are a creep who wants to masturbate to videogame characters"). This is pretty reminiscent to previous Bioware controversies ("entitled gamer"), although some of those were a lot meaner. While the internet is certainly up to saying nasty things
to people (the degree of which in this case is unknown beyond Bioware putting out a statement and some game journalists commenting on it), pointing out and laughing at a lack of work experience or skill (to whatever extent it's true) leading to poor results within your own forum threads and twitter feeds should not be rolled into any harassment. Perhaps it's mean to laugh at others' artistic failures, even not to their face, but it's also the part and parcel of completely taking apart a piece of art. It wouldn't be seen as anything controversial in almost any other criticism scenario, without specter of gamergate conveniently being shoved into every conflict. People laugh at the fucked up indie / cheap films and the occasionally goofy directors behind them all the time and would only do so with more fervor if something along those lines managed to float up into a blockbuster production.
(As for Manveer Heir, people calling him "racist" are probably taking a very simplistic approach to his views, but he's an antagonistic and provocative person on twitter who makes it a point to troll "whiteness", so it's perfectly understandable why a lot of people dislike him. He seems to be related to the combat side of the game, which has been considered decent at worst, so he doesn't have much face to lose here.)
The real question is why Lime went ahead and took the initiative in making a thread about a "controversy" which has its origins in laughing at Peebee's, a female character, ugly Shrek-like face.
