I don't get this "I don't like x persons views therefore I don't like what they produce."
I get it that if they're funneling their money to hate organizations, that's one thing. But if someone has some views you don't agree with, you're going to toss out everything? I mean Sugiyama is a pretty terrible person, but he writes great OSTs. Beethoven was pretty much an asshole by everyone's account, but he's still the best. It seems to me a distinct lack of maturity to be able to accept that there are people you don't agree with but can still deal with them.

Once all those accusations against Bill Cosby came out, I stopped listening to his comedy routines and constantly quoting him because the whole thing made me feel icky. Yeah, he's stuff is still funny, it doesn't change the content, but how I feel personally about it does because of a change in the perception of the person that made it. The Bill Cosby case is a bit extreme, but everybody's probably got a line somewhere that divides a scummy creative talent they can support from one that they just can't anymore.  What's ridiculous about GAF is how everyone else has to hate JonTron and attack him visibly and harshly at every opportunity, otherwise they're just as bad as JonTron and probably agree with him.

I'm serious about the craft and skill. The premise you're working with assumes the person appreciates what Cosby's comedy did. It assumes they appreciate how good he is as a comedian and what he did with the Cosby Show.

If you don't have that then all you have is pop culture morality. These people laughed at The Daily Show not because Jon Stewart was funny, but because he poked at the bad guys. If you don't have that appreciation of comedy or music or anything on that level, then you're just following orders. You don't even have the dilemma of "I like this thing he did, but he did that thing."

Anecdotal of course, but I wake up every morning with a rager, and can make it disappear with little effort so I can use the bathroom; I thought that was the norm. I'd imagine it would be even easier in a stressful situation like the one described.
