royalan! he maybe is one of those i was thinking of, i know he went crazy this last year in any case
GAF hurricane hottakes trigger me. Especially when some of the same dumbasses from 3 weeks ago that didn't know what storm surge before Harvey was are now pretending to be meteorologists for Irma.

in the one thread i think was linked on here they were talking about how powerful hurricanes are now, like Katrina which was superpowerful, which never caused damage like that in the past because blah blah blah blah
except any casual knowledge of the event should know that when Katrina hit land (the second time, people forget it clipped Florida first) it was a category 3 and dropping fast to where it didn't keep hurricane status long after landfall, New Orleans was a failure of infrastructure and planning, not a monster storm jacked up on steroids with laser beams for targeting
speaking of things people forget and sorta related to the two posts i quoted, Rita which was the same year was a way more powerful storm (i remember it because it was the one that spawned those hundreds of tornadoes all over the place that wound up doing the actual damage) and came three weeks later...which was followed a month later by Wilma which is most powerful storm of the modern era (but it only trashed some poor island nations not America so who cares) but neither of those ran into a city below sea level that had a complete infrastructure failure; and none of them kept category five status by the time they made landfall because that's difficult for all kinds of meteorological reasons
only three category fives have ever hit the U.S. simply because of the way the geography is, two hit Florida because it sticks out there all stupid like and the other did a crazy loop through the Gulf of Mexico to plow into Mississippi and up through Tennessee and wrecked up the join all the way up to Virginia or something which if anything just proves that hurricanes are getting stupider, we may be able to outfox them yet
