The midterm election strategy is in the bag.
you think republicans are going to pick up seats in the house or nah?
I think that the GOP thinks they have a pretty good strategy with the stock markets doing well, a SCOTUS nomination lined up and Trump again courting those that would otherwise never vote Republican.
So much shit is happening that the local candidates really have to do something crazy to make headlines or for their scandals to stay in the news cycle long enough.
I think the Republicans won't win a massive victory but hold on at say a 50.01% margin. As Trump not being on the ballot himself won't bring out all the Qanon's, the same will apply to the anti-Trump vote that won't REE to the polls.
To win elections you don't only need to flip seats but also votes and that's going to be a tough challenge for both parties.
For example, I would expect the polls to show a 70/30 blow-out against Ted Fucking Cruz no matter which candidate you pit against him. But that just doesn't seem to happen.
The divide is still 50/50 and Trump is just better at courting whoever wants to show up to vote to scrap by with those small margins even if it includes the mentally insane or the Nazi's.
I've never seen the strategy of having no real party leader and splitting a party between a liberal and socialist faction that depends on the youth vote work.
If I was at the DNC I would work 24/7 to flip conservatives and just bombard the airwaves with plans for even lower taxes, a more tough stance on Iran and North Korea and Trump impeachment for being Putin's little bitch.
Turn the whole thing on its head and make him squirm. One ad could be Trump saying something dumb and Rich Evans laughing.
