best part of the movie  :lol

Nah the best part will be the extended single camera scene when Trump has a heart attack on the toilet and crawls his way to the emergency button but can't reach it. The camera pans out from his extended hand out to the hallway where a secret service officer is on his phone reading a CNBC article about how federal employees were missing a 4th paycheck.

I had a nasty audit that's on indefinite hold thanks to the president being 5 years old. 8)

No one will care, but the Republicans realized last year that they massively changed the Internal Revenue Code after years of underfunding the IRS so they went, "Oh crap," and increased the Service's budget but only to implement their dumb tax law and now that it's game time you can't even fax in paperwork.

It's almost as funny as when they probably made it unlawful to deduct business meals in addition to entertainment and the IRS had to release temporary guidance that said, "Yeah, under the text of the law it's probably forbidden to deduct the cost of business meals but we're going to allow it anyway because clearly that was not intended." Very Marbury v. Madison. The rule of law is very important!

I know my taxes shot way up this year. Probably a $2400 swing in what I paid compared to last year.

But more importantly, who’s got the nudes of Roger Stones wife?

Stone is a piece of shit that should have been locked up a long time ago.

We mock the whole “everyone is a Nazi” thing but he’s a wannabe Martin Bormann.  Both him and Bannon.

Nintex, I'm a little mad about this because I didn't actually like the movie, but the concept of the Zone in Adam Curtis' Hypernormalization has so much sticking power that for the past few weeks my friend and I refer to things constantly as "zone", as in "Holy shit, that's so zone".

Wall Street is so fucking dumb.

The 1.5m fed workers and contractors are going to get a paycheck, yes, but they all know theres a risk of another 30+ day shutdown in just 3 weeks.

That means zero purchases of discretionary goods.

How do they not see that Q1 retail will be affected?

probably the Dem bill yesterday getting a few more votes spooked Mitch and that's what the meeting was about.

The Koch political network has informed allies and donors that they will not support President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign in 2020, according to a report from The Washington Post.

The report states that Charles and David Koch have spent the last few months indicating to donors that they will not support Trump’s re-election bid, and instead will remain neutral during the 2020 presidential race.

Koch spokesman James Davis told The Washington Post that the Koch network still plans to make a “significant investment to support policy champions in Senate, House and state races, build broad-based policy coalitions, and to launch a major new initiative to fight poverty in America.”

“This is where we can make the biggest difference for millions of Americans,” Davis said.

I think "repaying my payday loans" is going to prevent that more than federal employees being rational economic actors.

BTW, congrats to the payday loan industry for capturing a new market! Innovation!

Wow, what a crazy day.

To increase the level of crazy Pompeo just announced he's hired Elliott Abrams as special envoy to Venezuela.
Because a guy pardoned by Barr for his role in the IRAN-CONTRA scandal who played an active role in keeping the commies out of South America for Reagan can surely get this situation under 'control'.

So now the Russians are guarding Maduro with 400 mercenaries.

did trump end the shutdown just so he could get a state of the union address

I believe it was the imminent issue with flight directing due to call outs that compelled them. It seems as though he was ready to give up the SOTU in this standoff. Someone must have advised him on the very real fire they were playing with in this.

Pelosi said they can talk about a date for the SOTU, not doing it Tuesday like the original invitation.

Flights getting cancelled was probably the tipping point. That shit affects the donors.

The airport problems and the shit in Venezuela is probably why Trump had to give up his shutdown fight.
I guess this means Jared will end up under the bus sometime later this year.

In the meantime Pompeo, Pence and Bolton are working overtime to make the coup in Venezuela happen.

If you have to back off your strategy of shutting down the government because of... the direct and predictable results of shutting down the government, maybe it was a bad plan.

Pelosi is who Hillary stans imagined Hillary was.

I was a Pelosi for house Stan because I knew she had big balls, even though she looks like a fragile old woman, but Jesus she is good at twisting the knife. Honestly, she plays Trump’s game better than trump does.

Trumps administration has kind of hunkered down since early 2017, and stopped having interviews and press conferences. But the rest of the GOP hunkered down with him, so there was really never a consistent governmental narrative to fill the void.

P-dawg has jumped right in with near daily statements and press conferences, where she just clowns Trump and his administration. But when all he has is tweets, he just can’t really respond effectively.

Anyway it seems that the Democrats are feeling the heat because some of them don't want to be 'weak' on border security.

In any case the Democrats having to put 'a government that isn't shutdown' as a 'win' in their column just really shows how far the pendulum has swung towards Trump and the GOP.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I rooted for Trump last season because he was the most interesting character and the least likely to start WW3 in 2017 because of some Russian facebook ads (but I might be proven wrong on that one).
President Donald Trump. This is the shit you read about in history books. It'll puzzle historians for decades to come and we've been here, lived it, survived it(so far).

I also think that President Trump is the sort of necessary enema the US needs to return to 'normal' after 9/11.
The US coming to the realization that their neigbhours might not all be terrorists is sort of a win for sanity already.
