I'm honestly surprised that the revelations that Epstein had "an enormous quantity of nude photos" was not immediately met with the Always Sunny gif of Mac saying "where, what website"

Lots of people tipping around on their itty bitty toes. Makes me give the side eye honestly.

Since they are contrasting Democratic appointees with Republicans, isn't this basically admitting that Republican-appointed judges are generally working against the best interest of the people? Hmm.

I don't think anyone else is going to get caught up in the Epstein shit personally other than vague news headlines.

I don't see anything in the case related to any sort of "sex parties" the guy allegedly threw.   That entire aspect was a creation of tabloids in the first place, and nothing in the Florida case or this case indicates anyone actually has evidence of rich dudes being flown around to bang kids.  The guy is rich, he's also a proven pedo... tabloids ran with that + his rich friends and created a story over a decade ago out of it and you guys are eating it up as bad as Q distinguished-ers.  The only slightly interesting thing is that some victims claimed other men were involved;  that does not equate to an orgy island lol.

One thing that does perk interest.

How the fuck did he become a billionaire?

1. After graduating from Lafayette High School in 1969, he attended classes at Cooper Union and dropped out in 1971. He later attended the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, but left without receiving a degree

???

2. Billionaire

I’ve been reading about the Epstein stuff, and imo Epstein’s whole existence is sort of sketchy.

A college dropout becomes a billionaire after transitioning from high school teacher to options trader? It doesn’t really make that much sense, and I wonder if running a pedophile ring was not his only illegal enterprise.

He has angrily told confidants he is confused about why Fox News sometimes “goes negative” in its coverage of his administration when it features an unflattering portrait of his White House, the advisers said.

Trump was particularly annoyed at Fox’s coverage when he saw his ties to billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein being played up on the other networks.

Epstein was charged Monday with sexually abusing dozens of underage girls. His powerful friends over the years have included Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

Trump has gone on to complain that he feels that MSNBC and CNN rarely criticize Democrats and instead deliver pointed and, in his estimation, unfair attacks on the administration. To counter that, Trump has said, he feels it is important for Fox News to remain “loyal” to the White House and Republicans as a balance to the other networks’ alleged bias, according to the advisers.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/09/politics/cnn-polling-standards/
Quote
(CNN)Today, CNN is launching new standards for reporting on polling. These standards will serve to elevate research conducted by the most skilled pollsters and will make it easier for readers and viewers to understand what a poll says.

The news is flooded with polls every election year. Those looking to raise their profile have discovered that frequent polling on newsworthy topics can get a lot of attention. But not all of those polls deserve to be taken as seriously as polls conducted by researchers doing surveys to contribute to the public's understanding of the American people.

It doesn't take much to conduct a poll these days, but it does take quite a lot of care to conduct one well.

CNN will continue to hold pollsters to high standards. Our new approach opens the door for recently developed methods that did not previously meet the benchmark, provided they are being done carefully, while holding those using long-trusted methods to a higher bar that better reflects the steps pollsters need to take to conduct accurate surveys today.

The standards rest on responses to 16 questions which assess the methodology and the assumptions which form the backbone of any publicly-released poll. Pollsters who meet the standards are those who have answered all 16 questions and have done so in a way that shows they are using the best practices the industry has and methodologies which have been proven to work.

...

By implementing these new standards, CNN will cover some polling that uses non-probability sampling, but only if pollsters can demonstrate that their modeling assumptions were carefully constructed using criteria that are meaningful to the topic and their samples were chosen from reliable sources to represent the target universe.

That's where CNN's list of 16 questions comes in. Evaluating the validity of a poll is only possible if pollsters are transparent about what they are doing. Transparency has become a critical part of how those in the survey research world assess the validity of other research, with the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the Roper Center both implementing formal means to gauge a pollster's transparency. CNN's new polling standards means readers and viewers can be confident that polling covered on CNN has been done by pollsters who are willing to show their work.

There is not one correct way to answer the 16 questions that make up our standards questionnaire, but there are some things that have not met CNN's standards for reporting in the past and will not now. And there are some new, clear lines that define the way polls should be done today.

And if you are good at it, you can get rich.

Here's an interesting factoid I came across today when reading up on NAFTA (due to Ross Perot dying).

Quote
Non-Mexicans accounted for 62% of apprehensions at the southwest border in fiscal 2018, marking the third consecutive year in which they outnumbered Mexicans. In fiscal 2018, which ended Sept. 30, the Border Patrol made 152,257 apprehensions of Mexicans. This is a sharp drop from a recent peak of 1.6 million apprehensions in fiscal 2000, when Mexicans accounted for 98% of apprehensions. The decline in apprehensions reflects a decrease in the number of unauthorized Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.

NAFTA is working (sorta)?

Requirements for becoming a teacher are all over the map and were even moreso in the mid 70s;  even today there is no Master's requirement in New York and who knows WTF the requirement was in 1975 or whatever.

I really hope you are trolling here.   Like what are you even suggesting?  That he was recruited out of college to be a pedo-groomer by some rich guy, for some reason?

You're really pulling out all the stops to defend a known pedo.

Twist.

Donald Trump found himself at one of those pedo parties. He thought it was a standard real estate gig but it wasn't.

Mr Trump was horrified at what he saw. He doesn't drink, and he certainly doesn't engage in illegal sex activities.

From that day on, he started on the mission to bring the pedo ring down. But everywhere he turned the investigation was shut down.

The rot went all the way to the top. What could a simple real estate guru do when the president was in on it?

Obviously, at a party, he got the Mrs in private.

Hilary, he said, your husband is a monster.

But Hillary laughed. She was in on it too and would use the knowledge to also be president.

So what could Trump do but to take out down from the top?

So he ran for president and now finally has the power to bring the whole house of pedos down

That's the power of seniority in Congress. Once your congressperson has it,  the people don't want to give it up. So it usually takes some kind of unusual scandal to bounce them out.

Inspired by Marianne and Andrew Yang success at free media air time, Geoffrey Fieger is apparently trying to scam people into helping him launch a Presidential campaign again.

These dudes (plus Sestak and Steyer) clearly have no idea that they need to get to 2% in the polls AND have 130,000+ independent donors to get into the debates now. The shot at free debate time was over like a month ago. Steyer is running around talking about how he doesn't need and won't take any donors since he'll self-fund.

I'll be shocked if the national media continues giving time to any of these people once the DNC cancels them out of the debates. Time to start getting super familiar with the 109 counties of Iowa and New Hampshire, folx. :american

Steyer's taking donations but not doing fundraisers, and is aiming for the third debate per Dave Weigel.

I don't know how many people would want to send him a dollar so he can make the debates, but he probably has an enormous email list from his impeachment thing.

The fun part about the Democratic primaries is that if Biden (or whoever) gets 15% while nobody else cracks 15%, Biden gets every single delegate.

Think how easy it will be to lose those small hundreds of ballots needed to make sure nobody else gets over. :aah

America’s political establishment is riven with partisanship that has become “very wicked and very mean,” said entrepreneur and media mogul Robert Johnson, who added that the Democratic Party has become too liberal for his liking.

“The party in my opinion, for me personally, has moved too far to the left,” Johnson, the founder of cable network BET and RLJ Companies business network, told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble Tuesday.

“And for that reason, I don’t have a particular candidate (I’m supporting) in the party at this time,” he said. “I think at the end of the day, if a Democrat is going to beat Trump, then that person, he or she, will have to move to the center and you can’t wait too long to do that.”

Johnson described himself as a long-time centrist and Democrat. He publicly supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

“I think the economy is doing great, and it’s reaching populations that heretofore had very bad problems in terms of jobs and employments and the opportunities that come with employment … so African-American unemployment is at its lowest level, ” Johnson said.

Former Democratic New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind told Fox News Tuesday that he is preparing to sue Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., for blocking users on Twitter based on their personal viewpoints, following a federal appeals court ruling barring President Trump from doing the same.

Asked where his lawsuit would be filed and whether other plaintiffs would be involved, Hikind told Fox News in an email, "All that’s being determined at the moment."

"Most likely we will be [the] only plaintiff, but [we will be] citing other examples," Hikind continued. "The claim is [the] same as [the] one against Trump. She uses that account for political/policy commentary, so to shut a citizen off from her statements is a problem -- as well as blocking me from petitioning her or seeking redress."

Hikind added that in addition to himself, “several others, including journalists" have been barred from viewing Ocasio-Cortez's tweets.
