People always say that they won Iowa, but it seems a lot more sinister if you don't know if they won by winning or won by getting a surprisingly strong 3rd place.

For a social democrat in America, 28% is a very respectable result and shows that a left wing candidate might be viable as soon as 2024

The problem is that they can't report in. The app was supposed to do it but doesn't work, they can't phone it in because there's apparently not enough lines and they're resorting to cell phone screenshots of the forms. But some of the caucuses may be long gone, people would have to come back in to do that.

I don't know how the shadow primary is run these days by the politburo but I suspect Jimmy Hoffa has enough favors to clinch succession without violence.

Bernie Sanders is so remarkably restrained in some ways.  TO have internal numbers that showed a huge victory but only say something to the effect of "when you see the numbers I think that you're going to like them" is crazy.  Yet people compare him to Trump constantly.

Bernie Sanders is so remarkably restrained in some ways. He released his incomplete and dubious cross section of caucus results to claim victory even though those numbers show him leading SE by only 3%. All because his campaign didn't want to wait 24 hours.

As far as I know he's just said they think they'll do do very well in Iowa. Link to him claiming victory?

Why else do you think Jeff Weaver put out those numbers? He's trying to control the narrative.

If only there was a method of voting that couldn't be hacked and didn't rely on computer software.
I think I read about a method once that was used in the olden days that relied on some sort of thin sheets made out of wood, and you used an instrument called "pen" to write on them.

No, people stood in groups and they counted them. Individual votes only matter to the extent that they indicate group viability. Before this year they didn't even count them.

I'm gonna make a wild guess that they didn't test, train, or implement a rollback option/redundancy for an entirely new reporting system. Amazing.

Take away Iowa’s statehood and give it to Puerto Rico.

This is an appropriate punishment.

How do you think Americans vote? It's entirely paper/pen or electronic now.

This wasn't an election, but an internal party process masquerading as one.

Not deliberately but in the sense that I did the math and the results would be coming in when I woke at 1:00-2:00pm  +10GMT.

But I thought it'd be good because i'd be skipping past all the "results coming in now" crap.

Not to go all conspiracy but:

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/buttigieg-campaign-paid-firm-that-developed-voting-app-blamed-for-iowa-caucus-delays

Real :hmm energy hours with my insomnia.

Truly it's going to come down to Communism vs The Smiler (Now with Gay Hat™) until the Southern States where Smiler gets absolutely fucking destroyed by the black voters that "I'm not asking for your vote," "GOOD YOU'RE NOT FUCKING GETTING IT!" if South Bend blacks raises noise for that segment.

The only way they stop that is with Wine Caves calling in the nukes on the South. (#NukeUsAllChairmanXiJaneLynch)

Not overly bothered beyond Buttchug declaring victory before the numbers are shown, that's some really :cenk conspiracy energy right there. But Twitter ground-game saying Sanders won, showing his diverse base (people of all colors showing up for him and rurals declaring a clear BTFO victory for him in the first-rounds) means I'm not overly bothered by this shit show.

We'll see, but it's going to be an uphill battle fighting a clear rigging in the party a second time. I just hope the proletariat is ready with torches and pitchforks to head to DNC headquarters and the White House/D.C. and burn it all down like Canadians did back in the day.

How do you realign early votes to meet the 15% threshold?
You rank them
Quote
In a call later with reporters, Price read a statement indicating there was no hack or intrusion, but the verification was taking longer than expected. Iowa Democrats for the first time enacted a new "preference card" system in which caucus-goers wrote down their choice for president. This created an unprecedented paper trail.
I knew ranked choice had an issue with auditing but I never thought I'd live to see it :lawd

So how bad do we think this incompetence is going to get? I’m going to say that right now, realistically, there’s like a 75% chance the Democrats manage to not nominate anyone in time for the election. Trump will be debating the crazy dollar sign suit guy from those old late night commercials or whatever the Green Party convinces to run.
