There was a GOP debate a few cycles back, maybe 2012, where they tried something like the moderator setting up a topic, then they let the candidates respond to others for a while if they got mentioned in the order mentioned (otherwise just went down the row), then moved to another topic. The campaigns didn't like it because they thought the debate spent too much time on just a few topics rather than covering as many as possible.

I remember that mainly because some loser candidate that nobody cared about like Bobby Jindal was like "Uh excuse me, I was mentioned there too, I'd like to respond" but they just moved on because nobody cared.

Hopefully at worst the debate is a wash for everybody.

i wasn't able to watch it all but

bernie had by far the best closer - "everything's impossible until it's done" fit's perfectly, spoke assuredly without losing focus over a whining rat, on point re israel/palestine, nailed the commie dictatorship question (maybe a bit too overly zealous on some "dictatorships).

i really wish warren and bernie never fell out, and they were splitting 1st/2nd :'( everyone else on the ticket are such trash
