Biden is literally scared of what trump is going to say about bernie being a socialist.

That's his reason for why he's better than Sanders.

Worked for hillary I guess?

Pelosi ripping up the speech was epic and hot af.

(Image removed from quote.)

::) Can't wait for you and other DNC followers to meme this for the next three weeks.

I never expected you to be a YAAAS QUEEN-type.

Pelosi is the one who delivered last night. Although she could have done better by not even announcing him as the POTUS. "Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump" or "Impeached President Donald Trump" would have been far better.

And she doesn't lead the DNC. That's Tom Perez. DNC =/= the Democratic Party. We've been over this like a dozen times since 2016. Get it through your head.

::) Way to miss our point, dude.

Enterily tangential, but 70k$ to develop an app (largely useless and superfluous as it may be) up to the level of security and reliability you would expect sounds... Way too cheap ? And a sign it was an afterthought and mostly a fluff contract to shuffle some favors around.

Maybe I don't have a good grasp on that economy but that covers a month of work for 20 people at best ?

That would be what my company would charge for me + a one more junior dev for a single month lol.

I was going off a very conservative estimate of total shit wages but yeah I figured.

Maybe a 20 person offshore team (as sad as that is.)

But you'd be better off with a 2-3 person senior team, and they probably could get it done for $70k.  It's just hard to find high end developers who are looking for such a dinky short project.  Staffing at consulting companies want 6 month to a year long contracts otherwise you end up with too many high paid people sitting idle.

I guess you could do it with just a handful of actual devs for that price much better than the shit they pulled but if I was the party in charge of that work I would prefer to work with an established company with a lot of overhead, some legitimacy to ensure security (especially in the fraught zeitgeist of election interference) and confidentiality plus extensive testing on top, which would end up involving more than a dozen people.

Then again it's all moot because nobody cared that much, it would seem.

Quote from: 4 years ago
“As an empirical matter, we’re not likely to ever know what the actual result was,” said Jeff Weaver, Sanders’s campaign manager, who cited as complicating factors the narrow margin, the “arcane” rules of the caucuses, the delayed reporting of some precincts and the technology used to reports the results.

The Sanders review may not have any practical effect on how delegates are awarded, but "I think everybody has an interest in making it as accurate as possible,” Weaver said.

https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/481598-nancy-pelosi-should-resign
Quote
The House has its share of infamies, great and small, real and symbolic, and has been the scene of personal infamies from brawls to canings. But the conduct of Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the State of the Union address this week will go down as a day of infamy for the chamber as an institution. It has long been a tradition for House speakers to remain stoic and neutral in listening to the address. However, Pelosi seemed to be intent on mocking President Trump from behind his back with sophomoric facial grimaces and head shaking, culminating in her ripping up a copy of his address.

Her drop the mic moment will have a lasting impact on the House. While many will celebrate her trolling of the president, she tore up something far more important than a speech. Pelosi has shredded decades of tradition, decorum, and civility that the nation could use now more than ever.
Quote
However, if Trump made the State of the Union look like Oprah, then Pelosi made it look like Jerry Springer.

What followed was an utter disgrace. First, Pelosi dropped the traditional greeting before the start of the address, “Members of Congress, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States.” Instead, she simply announced, “Members of Congress, the president of the United States.” It was extremely petty and profoundly inappropriate.
Quote
My revulsion over this has nothing to do with impeachment. Six years ago, I wrote a column denouncing Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito for mouthing the words “not true” when President Obama used his address to criticize the court for its decision in the Citizens United case. I considered his response to be a disgrace and wrote a column criticizing Chief Justice John Roberts for not publicly chastising Alito for breach of tradition.
Quote
I also wrote a column denouncing Republican Representative Joe Wilson, who shouted “you lie!” at Obama during his State of the Union address in 2009. Wilson should have been severely sanctioned for that breach. When I wrote those columns, I had never imagined that a House speaker would engage in conduct far in excess of those controversies.
Quote
Pelosi has demolished decades of tradition with this poorly considered moment. Of course, many will celebrate her conduct and be thrilled by the insult to Trump. However, even those of us who disagree with his policies should consider what Pelosi destroyed in her moment of rage. She shredded the pretense of governing with civility and dignity in the House. Notably, she did not wait to rip up her copy of the speech until after she left the House floor. Pelosi wanted to do it at the end of the speech, in front of the camera, with the president still in the chamber.

That act was more important to Pelosi than preserving the tradition of her office. In doing so, she forfeited the right to occupy that office. If Pelosi cannot maintain the dignity and neutrality of her office at the State of the Union, she should resign as the speaker of the House of Representatives.
I can't believe people care about this shit. :lol

https://www.texastribune.org/2020/02/05/texas-democrats-expect-delay-presidential-delegate-totals-super-tuesda/
Quote
As their counterparts in Iowa reel from a disastrously slow election returns process, Texas Democrats say they're worried that a change in the way Texas reports election results will delay the final tally of delegates won by presidential hopefuls in the upcoming March 3 primary past election night.

Officials with the Texas Democratic Party said they were recently told by the Texas Secretary of State’s office that it will not be able to provide on election night the numbers needed to allocate a majority of the 228 delegates up for grabs in the state on Super Tuesday. In a Jan. 23 meeting, the Democrats said, top state election officials cited limitations to their revamped reporting system, which is used to compile returns from the state's 254 counties.

"They basically said that's not built out yet," said Glen Maxey, the special projects director for the Texas Democratic Party who attended the meeting with state officials.

Joe Biden’s campaign has parted ways with its Iowa field director, two days after the former vice president came in an embarrassing fourth place in the primary caucus state.

Adrienne Bogen, who headed field operations for Biden, will not stay on the campaign, even as other members of senior leadership were asked to head to other early states or to assist in Super Tuesday operations.

According to several sources within the campaign, Bogen is the first staff casualty following Biden’s disappointing showing in the state.

“We had precinct captains who didn’t know how to run a caucus. And a few didn’t even show. We lost friggin’ people on the second ballot of voting in the caucus! Someone’s head had to roll,” said a top-level Biden campaign staffer.

I'm sure benji will have a ten paragraph care post for this and don't take my word on it but my general understanding is that it doesn't apply. The Senate only decides on the political matter of removing from the office, not on any actual civil or criminal sentencing that would, I suppose, have to be prosecuted in court once the former President would come back to the general citizenry.

Or maybe you mean within the Congress and Senate, for a second Impeachment procedure ? I wouldn't know but in most cases it doesn't seem it would make sense politically to go again at the same canard.
