the big question i have on m4a isn't how it gets paid for but what happens to everyone that works for insurance companies now? not the execs cause fuck them but all the poor shlubs doing call center work or paperwork shit.

The whole framing of that conversation pisses me off, because it’s such a big feint by the rich assholes that don’t want to give up the gravy train.
Nobody gives a good goddamn about any of the other American jobs that get outsourced or automated away into obscurity. If Walmart replaces all of its employees with robots, almost all of the moneyed elite would say “you can’t fight progress and this good, maybe even great!”
The only other two industries that get this super special treatment are coal workers and steelworkers. We shouldn’t even bother talking about coal workers anymore, the entire industry employs less people than Arby’s does.
