The reports are that Paul Ryan "pleaded" for Trump to not go through with the vote. Trump wanted the vote to go through, even though it definitely would have failed.

If this isn't proof that the Republican party is essentially broken, possibly beyond repair, I don't know what is. They control the House. They control the Senate. They control the White House. And yet they still cannot do the one thing that they've been promising to their base for SEVEN YEARS.
