This book is going to sell more than Harry Potter, and probably be more entertaining, truth be damned!

Pretty impressive they got Trump to play along, too. And paying Charles Harder to bring a case against the publisher? Marketing!

Anyway, pretty good article on today's situation.

I see the book as a good test of the "I am defined by what I am against" policy.

How much do people warm up to ALT-RIGHT STEVE BANNON now that his book is negative towards Trump? Does Bannon speak truth now? Does the trust worthiness of the speaker matter or does the attitude of the speech determine belief?

Nah, turns out people can hold more than one thought in their heads simultaneously. Bannon can be a piece of shit far-right propagandist and people can enjoy seeing Trump’s thin-skinned ego lash out in the most Trumpian self-damaging way because Bannon had the audacity to voice an opinion that is basically just calling a spade a spade.

None of that requires growing an infatuation or positive opinion of Bannon. Just like a person can both consider Comey to be a well intentioned public servant that also made a couple really fucked up decisions that certainly impacted the election in some capacity....Another one of those people righties seem to make the same type of argument. I always assume as a lazy way to try and manufacture a sense of intellectual superiority.

I gotta say, I very much appreciate the potential irony of the situation.

The back-stabbing pompous blowhard president, that came of political fame by pushing birther conspiracies with an end goal of forming a fake news venture, going on to tangle himself into a self-defeating frenzy because some other potential pompous blowhard Trump’s ego welcomed in expecting praise and admiration, instead decided to potentially play wreckless with facts and narrative at Trump’s expense for fame and profit.

Complete with an 11th hour troll job of moving the release date up in response to threats.

BOOM: http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/367541-fbi-launches-new-clinton-foundation-investigation
Quote
The Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, law enforcement officials and a witness tells The Hill.

FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the Foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in coming weeks.

The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.

The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the Foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.

Sloppy serves multiple purposes. There is physical element, where sloppy is Bannon's  worn out appearance. He doesn't look put together quite right. Sloppy also means mistakes, screw ups and lack of attention to detail. And here's the kicker, sloppy makes you think of slimy.

I thought he had some kind of co-author capacity since his name always appears to be tied to the book. So he was just some rando that spoke on record for it? The rich often have a desire to increase their wealth.

That’s stupid, any musical based on gang violence in LA must be derivative of west side story.

Quote
Up to a certain point, I suppose you can almost see how someone might be fooled. After all, the following story about Trump from a 1997 New Yorker profile, told by a reporter joining Trump on his private plane, is apparently true:
Quote
We hadn't been airborne long when Trump decided to watch a movie. He'd brought along "Michael," a recent release, but twenty minutes after popping it into the VCR he got bored and switched to an old favorite, a Jean Claude Van Damme slugfest called "Bloodsport," which he pronounced "an incredible, fantastic movie." By assigning to his son the task of fast-forwarding through all the plot exposition—Trump's goal being "to get this two-hour movie down to forty-five minutes"—he eliminated any lulls between the nose hammering, kidney tenderizing, and shin whacking. When a beefy bad guy who was about to squish a normal-sized good guy received a crippling blow to the scrotum, I laughed. "Admit it, you're laughing!" Trump shouted. "You want to write that Donald Trump was loving this ridiculous Jean Claude Van Damme movie, but are you willing to put in there that you were loving it, too?"
