What exactly is that strategy we should credit to Trump though? Inflammatory tweets? I don't think its just Trump derangement, but I really don't see much of Trump's fingerprints on anything notable? Most things seem to be either developing around America(South Korea talking to the North, despite our objections at times, and China finally reaching the wall where they have no real wiggle room on sanction obfuscation), or are a continuation of the multilateral deterrent strategy that has been largely passed on from administration to administration.
The goal has always been a non-nuclear NK. Which seems to have entirely failed. They have nukes, they have improved their delivery capabilities pretty close to where their goals have seemed to be.
A victory to me would be diplomatic talks leading to a de-nuculearized North Korea. And I guess I'm skeptical of North Korea agreeing to anything but the most superficial of concessions?
