An 18-year-old Catholic high school student who has not been vaccinated against chickenpox filed a lawsuit this past week against the Northern Kentucky Health Department.

Jerome Kunkel, a senior at Assumption Academy in Walton, claims health officials violated his freedom of religion and other rights by ordering students without the vaccine to not attend school or extracurricular activities.

Kunkel's school is suffering a chickenpox outbreak, with 32 cases. The school had approximately 110 students in 2015.

On March 14, the Northern Kentucky Health Department instructed students without proof of vaccination or immunity against chickenpox to not attend school in order to "prevent further spread of this illness."

The students were told to remain home until three weeks after the last case of chickenpox at the school.

More: Chickenpox outbreak in Walton grows to 32 students, unvaccinated students told not to attend

But Kunkel, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday with the Boone County Circuit Court, opposes the vaccine on religious grounds "due to its being derived from aborted fetal cells."

While I'm not a fan of voting computers, at least this should stop some of the prevalent Republican election fraud and make recounts unnecessary. Of course it won't keep them from illegally purging undesirable voters.

Chelsea Clinton can be considered a black Muslim woman because of how much she has done for them.

Whether it’s collecting 6 figures from MSNBC while doing one segment every 3 months or having an honorary postition in her parent’s charity, Hillary has suffered more than most POC so that they could try to live the lives they deserve.

So what's the hold up on Biden announcing his candidacy? He was polling at the top of the field earlier but now others who are already in campaign mode are taking over, meanwhile Biden is making stupid gaffes like announcing he is running at some random speech only to back track...

This is a city of around 140,000 people nestled between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. On Tuesday, the city held municipal elections — incumbent mayor Wayne Messam, a Democrat, cruised to a second term. Votes cast totaled around 6,795, and as expected Messam won around 86% of them.

Messam is a first generation American a former Florida State University wide receiver. He almost went to the NFL but he didn’t make the cut. So he came home and started a successful construction business. At 44, he’s Miramar’s first black mayor. He celebrated his second term with a 4-mile run in the early morning hours of Wednesday with his regular running group.

A few hours later, he filed the necessary paperwork to launch an exploratory committee to pursue becoming the next president of the United States.

It’s crazy, but it’s not that crazy. Messam’s team sees a pathway for a young, black progressive southerner after the surprising rise of candidates like Andrew Gillum in Florida and Stacey Abrams in Georgia. South Carolina is the third stop on the Democratic nomination calendar, and Messam supporters say a strong early showing could make him a contender there.

But there’s not much time. The first Democratic primary debate is in June, and to make the stage candidates need to create a grassroots fundraising army or start showing results in national polls. Messam starts both efforts from basically zero. But he says he’s making this run for all the right reasons.

Popular Fox News host Jeanine Pirro been suspended for insensitive remarks about Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s patriotism, a source with knowledge of the matter told The Daily Beast on Sunday, hours after President Trump angrily pushed back that one of his favorite TV personalities be put back on air.

It was not clear how long the cable news channel plans to suspend Pirro, but she was bumped from her usual 9 p.m. time slot Saturday night and there has been no statement regarding her return. CNN first broke news of Pirro’s suspension Sunday.

Reached for comment, a Fox News spokesperson declined to talk about Pirro’s status, stating, “we are not commenting on internal scheduling matters.”

Pirro actually got suspended.

Meanwhile Trump isn't happy.  :doge

Sure the debates can make or break the candidates, but the preparation before it can makes or break their campaign to come. Unless you are Trump and relying on meme power there are Super PACS to set up, Sheldon Adelsons of this world to suck off until they are in your corner etc. So is there actually a good strategy behind announcing your candidacy last? While you can argue polling at this stage is worthless, it can impact donations you'd imagine.

Biden is subscribing to "the party don't start till I get in" school of thought.

It makes sense. Hes in the lead. He dictates the terms of the campaign.

I think that's burying the lede a bit, automatic filing is much bigger than a tax holiday IMO.

His tax policy section basically reads like T.R. Reid's tax policy book from last year's marketing pitch as he was traveling public radio/PBS promoting it. Either way we are one of the more backwards ass countries when it comes to filing taxes, so I'm all for it. Propping up an entirely unnecessary billion dollar industry when the government could easily just fill in your taxes for you(they already have all the info) and just get you to sign off on it(edit what needs to be edited) and deposit any refund into an account or send off your check. Which is how a number of European and asian countries do it.
