No idea, I don't think he's making any money off of it. Dude may have a patreon or something. He's being arranged on federal charges in the next week or so, so maybe he feels he has to ratchet up the crazy before he goes away for a while.

Not gonna lie though, Hillary& Cos troll game is on point. Getting Queen Tusli wrapped up in intentional wrong word play. Good stuff.

It finally dawned on me yesterday what this whole Ukraine thing is really about. trump wanted to use taxpayer money to make the Ukraine prez have a phony press conference to announce a bogus investigation into the Biden's. Once the headlines were made, it would shift attention away from trumps campaign. Conservative media would amplify and make up more false news about it.

That's all. He's trying to buy headlines with taxpayer money. It never mattered if there was an actual investigation.

The shit show from it would be wild. Thiccary against tulsi in the debates.

Edit: brehvolution, I agree. Manipulating media cycles is the only thing Trump is actually good at. I think that’s why he believes he can bluster his way through this.

Imagine being the republicans crying about civil unrest until they have to do it for russia.

For all the fire and brimstone in 2016, I've heard next to nothing lately besides that one Vox piece about the impact of Trump's executive actions on immigration. I expected more of an uproar about turning this into a veritable whites-only country by attacking the lottery and family migration.

Noone actually gives a shit about immigration unfortunately. Neither dems nor reps

I think Bernie is keeping low profile on it, because the republicans will just preemptively tie executive powers before he gets into the white house.

I think it's sadly a lot worse than that and "not caring" is basically as progressive as it gets before polling pretty negatively with the public. Western nations are already struggling to meet their own requirements on asylum seekers, humane treatment and housing of refugees and such.

I can think of four times Trump's immigration/asylum/border policies have gotten a lot of coverage and pushback: the Muslim ban, rescinding DACA, the shutdown over the wall, and the family separation fiasco.

Not sure if advocates and Dems could have done a better job in highlighting the other rule and policy changes, or if it takes something simple and dramatic (or in the case of baby jails, visible) to break through the noise. Also AFAICT reversing Trump's immigration policies isn't a huge applause line for 2020 candidates the way M4A and college subsidies are.

Theres a lot of things the media have dropped.

I remember we had 3 months of constant articles about how the tariffs were putting mid-west businesses out of business.

And then they stopped. Did they all close? Are they all doing better than ever? Who knows.

Noone actually gives a shit about immigration unfortunately. Neither dems nor reps
You know what, though? Philip Vera Cruz and Cesar Chavez didn't ask for anyone's permission to organize us. They didn't have to beg any congressmen, they didn't have to check in with white people first, they didn't have to navigate the bureaucracy to assert their rights and mobilize. One of these days I want to see Tyson Foods shut down for a whole year, the hotel industry fall apart, the food service industry grind to a halt as men and women march in the street and demand to be equal.

Im old enough to remember this

Quote
Police said more than 500,000 people marched Saturday to protest a proposed federal crackdown on illegal immigration. Wearing white as a sign of peace, and waving flags from the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala and other countries, they came to show that illegal immigrants already are part of the American fabric, and want the chance to be legal, law-abiding citizens.

Police used helicopters to come up with the crowd estimate. “I’ve been on the force 38 years and I’ve never seen a rally this big,” said Cmdr. Louis Gray Jr., incident commander for the rally.

In Denver, more than 50,000 people protested downtown Saturday, according to police who had expected only a few thousand. Phoenix was similarly surprised Friday when an estimated 20,000 people gathered for one of the biggest demonstrations in city history, and more than 10,000 marched in Milwaukee on Thursday.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_United_States_immigration_reform_protests

That was 2006.

Then there was a massive Democrat wave in the 2008 election and they did diddly fucking squat for immigrants.

Thanks, Obama!

Hillary (and the media and her relationship with it) really should get more shit for pushing for more coverage of Trump in hopes that he'd be the nominee because she could easily beat him. That aspect of the whole thing seems to get overlooked in favor of Hillary vs Bernie or where Hillary didn't do stump speeches at. She played herself something fierce but the consequences are going to impact the world for decades.

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/23/john-bolton-resistance-055957
Quote
John Bolton, welcome to the Resistance?
Quote
Washington has grown accustomed to the unexpected, the unusual and even the bizarre during the presidency of Donald Trump.

But is it ready for John Bolton, hero of the “Resistance”?

It’s a question increasingly on the minds of lawmakers, U.S. diplomats and possibly Trump himself as the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry forges ahead. A key revelation so far: Bolton, while serving as Trump’s national security adviser, raised alarms about the politically questionable role informal actors were playing in shaping U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine.

“Am I going to have to like Bolton now?” Bradley Moss, a national security lawyer frequently critical of the Trump administration, tweeted earlier this month. “This plot twist, where John Bolton turns out to be good, really strains the credibility of this entire season,” joked Vox.com writer Ian Millhiser.
Quote
But Bolton is working on a hotly anticipated book in which he’s expected to provide a first-hand account of his tumultuous 17-month tenure working for Trump. His agents on the project, Javelin’s Matt Latimer and Keith Urbahn, secured major advances for previous tell-alls by former FBI director James Comey and ex-White House aide Cliff Sims.
Quote
“The question for all those who see Bolton as the key to bringing Trump down is whether he will abdicate or put aside his long-held views on the presidency,” Gans said.
It's happening again. :doge
