I've seen so many retraining efforts made in Ohio over the decades and it always comes down to the will of the individual if they can do it. It has less to do with intellect.

The other issue, is that people settle into factory/farm work because there is an illusion of stability to it. If it works out, you're there for 30+ years.  IT work doesn't exactly provide that same promise of reliability and stability.

For farmers (or factory workers, for that matter), I think it would be better to offer them training opportunities in fields like HVAC or CNC work.

Bernie's campaign hasn't changed much since 2016, but seeing other people in the field playing dirty makes the commentary of 2016 that he was attacking Hillary seem hilarious.

It's fine now, but if things go south and we get to May with Sanders trailing Biden or Bloomberg by 1000+ delegates

My understanding is that job retraining programs always poll well and do very, very little.

I can see how people are getting sucked in by Bloomberg. Even out here in BFE Oklahoma, I'm getting bombarded by Bloomberg ads talking about how we're all God's children and Bloomberg is going to bring us back to the Promised Land.

We just need to find an Ancient. Bloomberg will lead us to the Promise Land.

Dude is blanketing the airwaves with his nonsense along with buying off a ton of people and groups. Once he's in a debate and everyone points out how much he sucks he'll probably drop.

The funniest thing was the Warren campaign lobbying to get him included in the debates so she could go after him in person, then the campaign releasing a statement saying "look how the DNC changes rules to help billionaires!" afterwards.

It's going to be funny seeing all the surface-level voters who spoke in defense of Biden and Buttigieg on the basis of "electability" come to terms with the fact that the most electable candidate is a Bloomberg.

It’s kind of humorous as Bernie has been doing the best head to head pretty consistently prior this and mainstream media lees wanting to say he’s unelectable.

He’s polled better head to head vs trump fairly consistently since 2015. I expect Bloomberg to drop now that people actually pay attention to him.... but even then Bloomberg is 52-42 and Bernie is 52-43, they are basically the same.

It's fine now, but if things go south and we get to May with Sanders trailing Biden or Bloomberg by 1000+ delegates, and he's still lobbing bombs and refusing to drop out, that's when you'd see the real criticism.

Candidates should do whatever they need to do, within reason, as long as victory is still a possibility. But not after that.

If, heaven forbid, Sanders gets trampled by convention, chances are he's still gonna go around trying to find a bunch of AOCs across the country and he'll be criticized for that too.

Its really happening

Quote
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has opened up a double-digit lead in the Democratic nominating contest, according to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll.

Sanders has 31% support nationally, up 9 points since December, the last time the poll asked about Democratic voters' preferences.

His next closest contender has 19%. But that second-place rival is former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Many Americans have become familiar with Bloomberg lately in this race because of his ubiquitous TV ads. But now get ready to see him on the debate stage for the first time Wednesday. With this poll, Bloomberg has qualified for the Nevada debate, despite not being on the ballot there for Saturday's caucuses.

Bloomberg is the perfect foil to get a lot of people to support Bernie too.  One thing that helps is his late entry.  You don't have to betray the person you've been supporting for months, you're just trying to stop the oligarch.

I think the bedwetting about bloomberg isn't necessarily that he's looking to win any primaries outright, but he and others will have enough delegates to force a contested convention, which would be a problem for Bernie.

I’m not exactly bedwetting over Bloomberg, but I’m kind of bummed that he’s apparently doing well in polls now (been out of the loopish past week, I can’t stay plugged into this shit, I already voted). People are falling for this shit? I’m not angry, America, just disappointed (for now).

But yeah, if the election ends up being Trump v Bloomberg, I’ll probably sink to a new circle of political nihilism.
