huh didnt realize circles randomly choose where to get smaller
with absolutely nothing to back this up outside of watching it in videos as people play so i can keep track of variables non-accessible while in game, i think it may be slightly influenced by player locations before picking a random spot along say a certain angle of it, at ends of rounds where large numbers of players are visible in one location it rarely seems to choose a point that's farthest from the players (from what i've seen, but even random i could watch a million videos and never see it)
searching about it turns up people saying it's just random but i don't think that's the entire case or else it could put the smaller circle in middle of the water at times for example, it must do some sort of checking of various things before deciding where to place it
even with all that kind of stuff if checked first to pick where it starts it would still be functionally equivalent of random to the individual player, especially one on the ground...unless we got out a heatmap of all players locations over a thousand games or so whenever the circle contracted which you could extract the equation from
Man, errybody loves to claim "CHEAT" when they get owned. It's super lame. It's the most delicious compliment when I hear someone thinking I'm cheating.
as fun as that has always made me feel, i like it even more when you get the accusation because they don't know how the game works like having limbs (or even more) completely visible or as i mentioned in the titanfall 2 thread that guy who accused me because he didn't realize only titans can't see cloaked pilots, everyone else sees a shimmering dude running around
