The majority will be excited if besada is made a mod because they don't know he's an asshole who looked for reasons to ban. All they know about bish is the funny ban gifs. A lot  the users didn't even know evilore was a creep before since GAF was the only place they went and that stuff was scrubbed. Even if they got links they would dismiss it since the sites pushing it were shitholes like voat. Where was that great investigative "gaming journalist" Jason Schreier? Just ignoring evilores deeds to get traffic to kotaku.

I agree that most users are probably not too familiar with the drama but I've read quite a few remarks clearly voicing the desire that ERA moderation should be a clean break (implying not everyone was satisfied of the old ways). I mean, the very essence of the foundation of ERA was a rebellon against administration, I would like to think this means the userbase will be more mindful and vigilant at management than they were in the past.

Insofar as I can tell, any chatter you hear about neogaf mods jumping aboard as Reset mods/admins is either intentional misinformation (ie that era_besada account) or just a misunderstanding that some of the old GAF mods were in the Discord chats talking to era staff in a pseudo-advisory capacity. I don’t know what the future holds, but for the most part I think most GAF mods are content to not serve that role anymore and I imagine most of the Reset staff are probably content to prove themselves while also not be eager to irritate the user base that is applauding a clean break from the old guard.

Advisory capacity. What does that even mean, old gaf mods have zero skills or knowledge worth anything running a forum.
