But I don't throw around my labels every time I enter a conversation like it gives me a sanctimonious moral head start. The difference between individuals is much larger than the difference between groups.

I know, but the gap between you and I is not nearly as wide as between you and I and a Mexican immigrant. We're pretty close in the scope of life and history.

But we are not close in the way we are treated in society. At least, not as close as you think. Do I really need to even bother citing a million sources about the disporportionate arrest rates for the same crimes, access to job opportunities and wealth, or will you just disregard that too?
