Alan Horn might be an idiot that can be trolled by the alt-right, but Iger and Feige certainly are not. My hope is that after the Disney and Fox merger goes through next week, cooler heads will prevail and Gunn will be reinstated as Guardians, Vol. 3 director.
"Moving on" is how Trump is still in power. This won't happen in my watch, I will do everything I can for Gunn to get back to finish his trilogy. And I'm sure that's exactly what he wants AND the right thing for people that actually care about not letting the alt-right win this narrative.
I am ok with people facing consequences for these types of jokes. I am not ok with companies accepting bad faith attacks from fucking fascists on the subject. Being stuck in-between these two ideas, I fully support anyone wishing for Disney to backpedal on this but won't personally be signing this petition or otherwise working toward it. For once, I am actually perfectly fine with this going either way. A rare luxury in my life.

I've been following this kind of shit happening for long enough to be confident that this will be the case. Disney was played, and I do think they don't like to be played. If I had to guess, I'd say this gets sorted out after next Friday, when the Disney / 21CF shareholders voting happens.

Theracist, rape-apologist, Pizzagate instigators of the campaign to get Gunn fired, Mike Cernovich and his Alt-Right followers are already very busy on Twitter, right now, to apply EXACTLY this tactic to Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman and others. At the same same time, happening so close to the ArenaNet firings, which come off worse to ArenaNet than this does to Disney, I can understand why there's some concern.
