Nobody is born hating another human being. You learn that from elsewhere. Usually from parents, but you can become radicalized from any source. The way you make less white nationalists is to stop their messages from reaching people. The way you do that is by stripping them of the ability to coordinate, which is precisely how ideas are introduced in the modern media world. You need immense organization to spread ideas. Not letting these kinds of people organize over grassroots connections like forums helps stop the spread of their message.

On a tangent -- I wonder how many people on this board actually, honestly realize the power that webforums have in terms of networking? You can seriously go far just by knowing people in life, and forums bleed over into the real world. Just by talking to people on forums, I've been invited for conferences and been in rooms with millionaires and shit like that. Web forums are potent as shit. They are a massively unstudied portion of our society. We are just now beginning to see how important and powerful the ability to connect and mobilize truly is. A lot of the guffawing about "deplatforming" sounds like people flat out not believing in the power of forums.

Just report the post for its content and let the mod team do the follow up with the rest. Wanting to play at being thread-cop doesn't make you one.

Detailed reports help the moderation staff rather than them trying to piece things together on their own when they have a bunch of other reports to look at and things to do.

My point was more that it’s not member’s jobs to go around investigating people. Our role should be just reporting offensive posts. The mods can then look into that person and see if there’s cause to ban them or to suspend and give another chance. There’s way too much community policing here IMO. Doesn’t affect me as I stay out of debates and controversial topic as I’m just here for gaming and the more lighthearted threads in EtcerEra for the most part. I just don’t think it’s healthy for the community.

That's a fair opinion, however with my experience moderating large communities for years I disagree, especially with decrying community policing, and it *is* a user's job to give detailed reports with as many reasons why the content was reported as possible.

The more you post, the more mods like you and the more likely you are to "win" arguments. Fucking gamers smh

Due to the nature of how this site was formed and how certain subreddits and other communities exist to explicitly doxx and troll people here, we are not infrequently targets of troll accounts. As such, we sometimes have people from those communities coming here to stir shit up. Usually they’re pretty transparent, as they can’t meaningfully participate in the community long enough without exposing their asses. Which means they end up having a low post count. This doesn’t mean everyone with a low post count is an idiot troll, but most idiot trolls have low post counts. So it’s one marker out of several to identify posters like this. If you’re a genuine poster, you shouldn’t need to worry about it.
