Yeah other than the 2 more cores on the 8700k the whole market seems to have stagnated. I can still run all games released now at medium/high settings at 1080p at acceptable framerates, that would be unheard of in the 90s/00s ona 7 year old cpu.

Bless console based game engines I guess.

To be honest, I personally do not donate to cancer research even though my own father passed away from cancer. Through my research, I have found that a vast, vast majority of charitable donations to cancer research goes towards salaries, and (most importantly) diagnosis methods and equipment, rather than cure or prevention.


This is not a health forum, (obviously), but there is very strong links between Breast Cancer and iodine deficiency. One needs the correct type of iodine (Lugol's Solution is often cited as being the best). There are many reports of women painting the iodine on their breasts and the cancer reducing or going away completely. Obviously, do your own research.

It’s more ridiculous than that.  They developed every technology independently but better and more so - ie Star Trek level shit while being totally isolationist because post-scarcity meteor ex machina.

We appreciate the feedback on the new themes. However, let's try limit this thread to people with substantive feedback or bug reports. General comments like "these themes are awful" or even "these themes rock" without any substantive commentary serve to only clog up the thread and makes more posts for the dev team to wade through. While we have not decided to do so at the time, we may come back through this thread and start cleaning it up to remove the filler posts to help out the dev team.

Why is a for profit website using volunteers to build itself? Hire people to do the work. Pay your volunteers and don't contribute to the shitty societal expectation of unpaid labor. Taking advantage of people's passion is rampant in the video game industry. I'm sure posters here are happy such a gaming community exists and they want to contribute to it. Don't allow them to do it unpaid.

GAF looks great on mobile. It always has but it looks way better now, too. Era is in need of a lot of work. A lot.

This is actually a good point. Since Resetera LLC is a for-profit corporation, you really should be hiring professional designers / developers to create a cohesive look. If you can't do that, then at least give your volunteers SOMETHING beyond "gratitude." This isn't a charity.

I was apprehensive when we announced a site redesign. I thought the original site looked really good already. I got used to it quickly. Not just used to it, really, but attached. I remember seeing the original site when it first went up, after a period of time wondering if I would ever have a community home like this again, and being overcome with pride and relief with how good it looked. This was a nice place! The sight of the site was a comforting presence that inhabited every screen I owned.

So the idea of letting that go for something new made me nervous.

But having had the chance to use the new site for a while now, I can safely say I have no more reservations. I am a mobile-first user, so I am used to sacrificing functionality for style, but I don’t have to do that here. I don’t have to miss what I was using because I think this is just so much better. Even with what bugs and tweaks remain, I understand why this was the release candidate: it’s just great.

The navigation tray at the bottom is an essential lifeline feature that saves so much time. The floating nav arrows on the bottom right seemed odd at first but have become second-nature now. And while I liked how the old site looked “out of the box”, the new site doesn’t look “out of the box” at all. It looks new. It looks real. It looks like ResetEra.

The site grew on me rapidly, so I suggest to anyone who is a little mixed to give the new site a try for a while and see how you take to it. Switching to something different, especially anything related to tech, can activate the Luddite in us all. But after just a short time, the foundation set by the new 1.4 makes me excited for the progress the site will make to 2.0.

I was used to using forum that never changed. They looked exactly the same for ten years as their functionality languished and their quality faded. Even if change can be a bitter pill at first, this isn’t just a change. This is growth.

I am exited to see the site continue to grow. I’m excited to see what ideas the team implements. And I’m excited to use it.

My congratulations to the team. Can’t wait to see the site growth.
