I absolutely like the transparency on this, but really Evilore, you don't have to write a book about the past every time. I know that you moved on by your own account, but let that also reflect in these posts of transparency.

Furthermore: Bish has an ERA account. He does not use it often but he has one. I am not so sure if it is really needed to constantly name him as the sole culprit for all these bannings, both during Gaffoctober, or prior. Just seems a bit much on the personal agenda. Especially since he can read these posts.

He's welcome to read these posts. It was a betrayal of trust and an active deception on his part. He lied to me directly over and over again while he was sabotaging the site. He admitted to it when confronted, but did nothing to address it and happily bounced to ERA after helping to set up the conditions that led to ERA's formation. Is that supposed to be some reason to go soft on him? I think not.

Not everyone follows things closely or knows what happened back then. A lot of people who were hit by these bans don't. Hence the context. It's not for you, it's for them. Thanks.

Mod* singular. Honorary mod who had not been active in years. And it wasn't for refusing to promote violence. It was for the specifics of the arguments being used, and that he was using those arguments while associated with the administration, which was undermining things with the community from a PR standpoint since he had came out of lurker/inactive mode straight into participating in a volatile thread with suspect arguments. Mods are supposed to keep things on the same page with me and everyone on the team via our private channel, before doing something like that, but he was not part of that process since as mentioned honorary position for helping build NeoGAF back in the day and because I respect him. However, I had known him for a long time and knew that he had consistent strong feelings about pacifism for like 20 years, and his overall position was consistent with that, so ultimately I felt like shit about it and didn't want things to play out that way. I've been writing an apology letter to him on and off for a few weeks now that explains where I was coming from and why things played out that way. I suppose it's past due for me to send it.

I preface this by saying: I'm okay, and I'm home now. But while I was at work today, I started to develop the symptoms of a stroke. When they progressed, my doctor wrote me a literal prescription for the emergency room, and the ER staff quickly wheeled me into one of their trauma rooms and surrounded me with more than half a dozen people.

I'm very grateful that it was not a stroke. While I have follow-ups with a neurologist to be certain, apparently it was a migraine, possibly a hemiplegic migraine.

One of my main migraine triggers is stress, and one of my major stressors right now is the news. I was already hiding from most news sources, but now it looks like I need to hide from all of them until I get these stroke-mimicking migraines under control. That means my hiatus is now indefinite and possibly--though hopefully not--permanent.

He had his reasons and made mistakes and harmed the site, but I believe the motives he described to me when I confronted him with the truth. It is what it is and we had to part ways. For a while I've come to realize major changes will only really occur when there's a white minority. Yeah, they'll probably still be in positions of power, but their voting power being drastically reduced will have a large effect
Doing away with the electoral college will go a long way towards resolving that.

When you look at what's happening in Europe, where supposedly liberalized countries are rapidly turning to far-right extremism in the face of brown migrants, you realize no country is safe. It's not just America with Trump or Britain with Brexit. White people, everywhere, cannot be trusted to look out for people of color. When their backs are against the wall (or they even perceive that their backs are against the wall) they will vote to save themselves, every time, without question. They will throw people of color, women, queer people, immigrants, and Muslims under the bus, every time, to save themselves and their majority. The scariest thing they can imagine is that they will one day be treated the way other minority groups are treated.

A moderate is the ally of peace not justice and therein lies the rub.

Racists and moderates are the end of us.

This is why I thought this whole recent narrative that minorities need white America to change was flawed. Whites had no incentive to, morals are always thrown away when convenient, moral calls to action are ultimately flawed strategy.
