I thought it was a solid conference. I still think the Xbox One is kind of fucked and they did'nt really prove the value of the X. But I guess they did at least make a case for MS not being totally out of the game. I'm just not sure this newfound promise of support will effect the One. I mean purchasing Ninja Theory is a show of faith. They aren't going to be making online games as a service stuff. Though there is some possible disappointment, because they really where going places with thier newfound approach to indie development. It's questionable if MS will allow them as much freedom.
Halo Infinite- It's hard to really care. They showed off some nice graphics, but did'nt reveal that this is a open world Halo or what that means. It's pretty sad that the most boring announcements are from MS's main series. Maybe this will be cool? I don't know, Halo dosen't excite at all anymore.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice-What is there to say? It looks really cool and From Software is pretty great so....
Metro: Exodus-Looks great. I will say that all these 3rd party games look pretty impressive and I'm assuming they are running on the X.
Kingdom Hearts 3-Pretty shitty trailer. Terrible audio levels and editing. What happen Nomura? Too bad about the voice acting. Still damn is this one of the best looking games.
Forza Horizon 4-Now this really did show off the X. 60 FPS? Hell yeah.
Tomb Raider-Ok Graphically looked a bit meh.
DEVIL MAY CRY 5-Now thats a return of the Capcom I love. Excellent graphics, awesome cutscenes, cool looking female characters, Japanese character designs that look stylish, and dumb fun music. Man talk about a dream come true.
Dying Light 2-The consequence stuff could actually be good. I trust them after the 1st one.
Gears 5-Yawn. MS dosen't even seem excited with it's own games. Just looked like more of the same, but with a shift to a focus on the female character. Because thats whats in now. She was also terrible and bland in the first game, but slightly less so than the other new characters.
Cyperpunk 2077-Oh my fucking god. I mean the Witcher 3 has pretty much the best realized open world and well this trailer made me think they could surpass that.
So basically it was a decent conference that showed a lot of cool games....
but I'm not sure if it was really the saving throw for the Xbox One. The actual Xbox exclusives are pretty lame. Yes they put money where thier mouth is as far as committing to better support. But who knows when will see the fruits of that. And still what will it mean? That those developers become Forza and State of Decay factories like 343 and the Coalition?
Good show, but once you look past it, it's still pretty easy to be skeptical about MS.
