He's always had some weird Canadian views of capitalism and a few other things, and I mean that versus a typical libertarian view of capitalism. Hayek or whatever. A lot of Canadian libertarians are similar on one subject or another to where I assume it has to be a cultural thing, for all its faults the American Mythology does a lot to shrink the imagined nightwatchmen state.
I assume this is why so many are either Objectivists or Holocaust deniers. I mean, in outsized proportion compared to the U.S. movement.
edit: Oh yeah, his morality/argument stuff, which is actually what he's published, is a whole other thing. Deirdre McCloskey called him a fucking idiot because he wouldn't stop trying to explain it to everyone at some panel and then she just sat there pissed off.
