Was trying to help an old hometown friend get through a rough patch and had been shootin the shit with her via text for a few months only for her to turn around and start fucking judging me and projecting her fucking misery onto me. Like, wow. Flat out disrespect. Cunt was bringing stuff up from forever go when i would rant to air some frustration out. She turns it around and uses that as a way to put me down and make her miserable ass feel better. She's been blocked.

Man do people need Zen.

Zero emails in Gmail.
Zero notes in Google Keep.
Zero videos in YouTube's Watch Later.
Zero bookmarks in Chrome's "Other bookmarks."
Zero phone notifications.

Three browser tabs open (in a single window.)

True zen is the careful caretaking of the digital zen gardens inside all of our phones and computers. 🙏🏻

I went to a zen center for years. I never converted but I almost was going to make my rakusu. Zen Buddhism made me appreciate religion. I went in as an atheist wary of things like “tradition”, ritual, and even organized religion. It taught me that faith wasn’t weak or even necessarily bad. I haven’t meditated in a long time. I’d like to purchase a zafu but given how fucking popular cribbing the religion is these days for hipsters it’ll probably cost like 200 bucks now. Used to be 100. A lot of the pictures here make me miss it, zen. I should visit and say hello. Since I’m black the cacs won’t remember my face. They didn’t even remember me despite having gone for years to dharma talks. But the abbot I view as a mentor and a friend, and one friend left to japan to become a monk.

I should stop by for meditation some day. Not as a religion but just meditation every now and then. The incense. :lawd That gong. :lawd Bao and ginger tea. :lawd Hour long meditation sits. :gladbron

I thought about going. The constant sound of negativity going wom wom wom besides my head while being in this place is deafening, it's honestly defeating me. I keep going to bed questioning all my decisions.

This is such a self-hating culture around here where everything is shit, and no one is getting out of this shit, and it's just this shit constantly. I'm not even totally part of it, but I still feel it and it then backfires and makes me think about all my mistakes, and if I'm making the right choices. It's brutal. I need zen just to keep from falling into a pit of darkness.

But man today I'm defeated and I feel like giving up and just quitting all this, packing up my shit and heading back to good ole US of A. I don't care if I start from scratch in something new.

The level of self-hate people have around here is too much.

Problem is I don't know what I want.

One min I think "oh beautiful beaches are so nice, walking outside in shorts and a tank top with beautiful women in bikinis is great" but then the next min I'm like "fuck this it's too hot, too smelly, this place is a mess, I belong in the mountains somewhere"

I mean I'd get a mild panic attack if I saw that on my account in the morning or something, but for normies it's probably fine...

Out of what?

Out of you wrongly thinking that Sonos re-compresses audio and that it isn't capable of streaming to real speakers?

1) It doesn't, it uses wi-fi.. so it's up to the service what quality to stream, in the case of Tidal that's FLAC
2) There are multiple Sonos products that are designed for connecting to wired speakers / amps of your choice

And hell, for the bedroom their own wireless speakers aren't bad (and again, they aren't typical "wireless speakers" they are wi-fi recievers w/ speakers on them)

Say more wrong things, and go shave.

:huh

Your Sonos Connect tops out at 16/44.1. And to be fair the hifi tidal touts is 16/44.1. Saying CD quality is lossless will trigger audiophiles like teeepo tho it seems. FLAC is a "lossless" format, doesn't mean the audio contained isn't lossy. Also, who knows what the original recording rates were.

I think the benefits of high res audio beyond CD quality sampling rate and frequency for playback are pretty dubious tho and Sonos Connect seems pretty convenient and dece. I like their interface. HRA is going from one extreme (mp3) to another (24/192). I'm good w the middle ground CD quality, streamable audio and focusing on observable wavelengths. I would bet my life's worth no-one here could tell you the difference between something recorded at 24/48 and 24/192 in a double blind test consistently. 192khz is marketing shite.

it's more the way riotus carries himself than being triggered over audiophile shit but to elaborate: it's the fact that he's touting loseless audio over the sonos ecosystem when the sonos drivers are 3.5m in diameter. incidentally, i had owned a sonos play:1 and do believe it to be a benchmark speaker for its size and wireless setup but it has a flat frequency response from low to hi which doesn't really have the dynamic range to bring to life any audio recording with any hint of a soundstage. though the flat curve is actually a good thing for multimedia speakers (can drive anything) and its frequency response is a technological/engineering marvel for a speakers its size. however, i believe sonos themselves said higher bitrates don't benefit their speakers in response to whether a dac would improve the sound, if i remember correctly. though a dac would add "colour" to the sound, and did.

but either way, fuck that racist cunt.

"Those who are compulsively attached to the results of action cannot really enjoy what they do; they get downcast when things do not work out and cling more desperately when they do. So the Gita classifies the karma of attachment as pleasant at first, but 'bitter as poison in the end' (18:38)"

"To begin with, Krishna often tells Arjuna to 'renounce the fruits of action' (karma-phala):

You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work.
You should never engage in action for the sake of reward,
nor should you long for inaction. Perform work in this
world, Arjuna, as a man established within himself - with-
out selfish attachments, and alike in success and defeat. For
yoga is perfect evenness of mind. (2:47-48)

'Fruits,' of course, means the outcome. What Krishna means is to give up attachment to the results of what you do: that is, to give your best to every undertaking without insisting the results workout the way you want, or even what you do is pleasant or unpleasant. 'You have the right to action, but not the fruits of action.': each of us has the obligation to act rightly, but no power to dictate what is to come of what we do."
