Literally not a single thing wrong I saw in the footage (other than tools not being in the item inventory, grumble... though them having a star icon in the upper right is interesting...) It all looks so fucking good. Especially winter. I can't wait for some reason.

Crafting is a great fit for AC. The functionality and simplicity of the NookPhone is genius. 8-player online is FUCKING SWEET but we already knew that. Photo mode looks decked the fuck out. HOLY SHIT at the player customization, literally a generational leap. Outside furniture placement yoooooo. Putting your tent literally anywhere INCLUDING THE BEACH YOOOOO.

I think the thing I'm most excited about is the NookMiles program. They're taking the MEOW Coupons from Welcome Amiibo, basically optional mini sidequests refreshed each day and week, and merging it with Smash's Challenges.

I get that it makes the game more convenient and more immediately enjoyable (and therefore is a direct upgrade to its predecessors) to most, but there's something to be said for being dropped into an established town as just another indebted villager as opposed to being some type of Mad King that gets to shape not only the stores and personage of the island, but who now can split and rend the very earth itself before their whims!

Like, being able to control where other people set their houses rubs against what I liked about Animal Crossing and pushes it closer to being something like The Sims.

I kind of feel the same, but am ok with something different as they've pretty much been rehashing the same game since the gamecube (which I don't think has been eclipsed).
